Breeding Research Summer Internship:
You will work with the Breeding team as well as the Research Agronomy team to assist in the evaluation of breeding material, as well as the breeding of specialty canola oil varieties with commercial potential. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, innovative, has a desire for continuous learning and is able to quickly adapt to a rapidly evolving and highly motivated research/ team environment.
You will assist in successful research trial management, which includes evaluation of germplasm and breeding. You will work with an interdisciplinary team including other research and Agronomy teams, who manage and maintain research plots, to organize resources effectively and to meet all business objectives.
Internships are paid and are at least 16 weeks in duration.
Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year.

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in an Agriculture-related field, graduating between December 2018 and May 2020.
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
A valid Canadian driver's license and clean driving record
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
Strong interest in plant improvement and/or plant breeding
Able to complete a 16-week internship in the summer (May - August 2018)
Strong problem solving, analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills
Demonstrated attention to detail skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and self-motivated
Willing to travel if needed within Western Canada
Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance
Must be able to complete essential functions of this job as outlined in the job description with reasonable accommodations
Experience in agriculture
Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
