Plant Accounting Lead (m/f)

General information:

The jobholder will lead the Plant Accounting activities of our Cocoa & Chocolate production plants in Berlin. He/She will collaborate with the local Accounting & Finance (A & F) Team in order to implement and improve new processes and to meet the changing requirements of our growing business. Cargill ranks amongst the leading cocoa & chocolate companies in the world, with a global presence. The Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate (CCC) Business Unit houses a full supply chain from sourcing cocoa beans up to production of cocoa products and chocolate. Sales are done towards many industries with customers all over the world. The strategy of the BU is a challenging one, combining growth with operational excellence and customer focus. Besides the BU strategy, working in this function is very interesting and challenging because of origination, production and trading activities, presence in emerging countries, volatility of cocoa beans and product prices, commodity & forex risk management and internal control elements as well as the large number and value of transactions. The jobholder will be located in Berlin Reinickendorf and reports to the A & F Manager Chocolate.

You main tasks:

40%Doing ad-hoc analysis and reviews

20%Responsibility for the month-end closing in chocolate and cocoa

20%Follow up of the raw material flows in both, cocoa and chocolate, incl. the yield calculation of the process

10%Responsibility for the local reporting (i.e. actual costs vs. budget)

5%Attendance of the monthly meetings

5%Responsibility for monthly B/S reconciliation in collaboration with our Support-Team in Sofia


Your qualification profile:

  • University Degree in Finance & Accounting, Economics, Business Engineering or any other equivalent education.

  • Min. 5 years of experience in related finance roles, ideally with exposure to processing companies.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and technical proficiency in financial and accounting areas.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP will be considered as a plus.

  • High learning and execution capacity with strong conceptual strengths.

  • Ability to prioritize as well as work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Highly motivated team-player with a collaborative working style and at the same time being able to work independently.

  • A high degree of computer literacy, MS-office (Excel in particular).

  • Fluent in English and German (verbal / written).
