This full time position is located at Breaux Bridge, LA.

This role is responsible for correctly, safely and efficiently packaging and warehousing salt products for a salt manufacturing and packaging facility.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Operation of packaging equipment.

  • Input production data into SAP.

  • Monitor bag weights on scale.

  • Input informance data into computer system.

  • Input production downtime information into SAP.

  • Collect samples/Perform quality testing.

  • Minor maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment

  • Housekeeping tasks.

  • Repalletizing/disposal of distressed product.

  • Perform change over tasks.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves and shoveling.

  • Ability to lift a minimum 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas.

  • Must be able to operate machinery.

  • Must be able to read/write English.

  • High School diploma or Equivalent.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to work overtime.

  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.

  • Willing and able to work any shift required Monday through Sunday, including shifts up to 12 hours in length.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow directions (written and spoken).

  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide).

  • Demonstrated ability/desire to produce quality work, results and products.

  • Willing to be cross-trained and to assist in other departments as necessary.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in teams.

  • Demonstrated positive attitude toward/interest in safety and safe work rules.

Preferred:

  • Forklift certified.

  • Prior experience in production related work.

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with SAP and/or a HMI.

  • Experience operating and troubleshooting industrial equipment (ex., packaging machinery, etc.).

  • Experienced at problem solving with co-workers.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner.
