Position Purpose & Summary
The primary accountability of this position is to support the Financial Risk Management process for Cotton/Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain (CASCNA), with primary focus in position reporting, counterparty risk, controls and compliance activities. In addition, this role provides financial expertise for the CPRS/CRM (Commodity Price Risk Solutions/Cargill Risk Management) portion of the business while leveraging accounting systems and applications.
50%Support commodity, counterparty & futures risks, controls and compliance activities including but not limited to monitoring, analytics, new product development (PAF’s) and the effectiveness of controls around those activities. This is accomplished by partnering with commercial & merchandising teams, engaging with Centers of Expertise such as the Risk Management Group, Futures COE, Tax and Law.
30%Perform commodity position validation and analysis, ensuring all risk positions are being reported and monitored. Skilled at leveraging financial and business systems to monitor business activities and aid in decision making. Maintains working knowledge of systems and application
20% Provide financial expertise on cotton marketing solutions including ProPricing and CRM products. Ensure procedures are in place, updated and communicated for all programs in partnership with product operations group. Create and provide training on existing and new programs. Provide ad-hoc analysis and problem solving as needed. Serve as business analyst, partnering with the marketing team and IT, for enhancements and resolutions related to contracting and Grain Marketing Solutions. Serve as subject matter expert for business users.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 3 years experience in commodity trading and/or financial analysis
Understanding of derivatives accounting and compliance
Strong problem solving and financial analytical skills
Ability to communicate, influence and build trust across multiple stakeholder groups
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills
Demonstrated high levels of written and verbal communication and documentation skills
Proven ability to lead and deal effectively with change
Demonstrated principled leadership and sound business ethics as outlined in Cargill’s Leadership Expectations
- Understanding and experience working with JDE and ITAS
