Description

Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain – North America (CASC NA) connects agricultural producers to food, feed and industrial customers through a seamless supply chain. We help our customers compete in the global market and efficiently deliver products from origins to destinations through our marketing, sourcing, originating, storing, trading, consulting and processing of grain, oilseeds and crop inputs products and solutions. CASC NA business reaches across Canada, United States & Mexico with an expansive asset footprint including over 200 grain elevators, export/import facilities, oilseed crush plants, biodiesel facilities, and farm service centers.

In the role of Grain Marketing Services Lead , you will provide leadership and development to the CASC NA Grain Marketing and Sales team to ensure the development of a sales and marketing strategy within the region. You will be responsible for developing the skills and abilities of the sales team, and also ensuring sales and marketing tools and processes are implemented consistently throughout the region.

You will support and lead team members in the Southwest and Northwest region.

In this position you are the coach responsible for implementing, developing and evaluating appropriate skills within the sale process to ensure we are identifying needs and positioning appropriate solutions. You are responsible for to support the team in learning how to identify cross selling opportunities to include Grain Marketing and Market Advisory Services. Another important focus is on collaboration with the current Grain Origination Leads.

Principal Accountabilities:

45% Provide coaching and development to the sales team, to include measurement, forecasting, and goal-setting processes. Ensure team achieves goals of the organization through volume and revenue of new and traditional products and services.

20% Execution of customer solutions strategy with sales team working in conjunction with the Regional Sales Leader and Product Line Leader. Utilize marketing tools (direct mail, promotions, etc.)

20% Provide leadership to the sales team regarding the sales systems and structures such that the model and structures are successfully integrated into the organization's culture; including alignment between the sales and merchandising teams.

10% Be accountable to ensure that customer intelligence is fed to the product development, merchant, and marketing teams including ensuring brand consistency in conjunction with the marketing team.

5% Member of the sales leadership team; responsible for the overall performance of their sales team.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5 or more years of professional experience

  • 2 or more years of experience in leading, mentoring, developing and influencing high performance teams

  • Series 3 and 30 License OR able to obtain within 90 days

  • Proven ability to work successfully within a team and form lasting relationships

  • Demonstrated effective communication, training and coaching skills

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Agricultural business experience

  • Strong product knowledge of the various components of the integrated solutions that Cargill provides to the farmer customers

  • Experience being an active leader within a sales team and a champion of multiple product lines
