Position Purpose:

Dedicated to helping farmers prosper, Cargill Agricultural Supply Chain (CASCNA) helps customers manage their risk and maximize production through grain marketing alternatives, crop insurance, and agronomic advice and crop inputs. Part of Cargill's global agricultural supply chain group, CASCA serves customers with a 1,500-member team at more than 100 grain elevators and service centers across the United States.

This Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily grain facility operations and personnel to maximize efficiencies, operate within applicable government regulations and Cargill policy and assists in identifying and developing customer solutions and service.

Principal Accountabilities:

30% Planning and implementation of processes to create a safe work environment and effective use of the work force and achieve production goals.

30% Coaching development, training and management support to employees within the facilities such that goals of the organization are achieved.

30% Assist in management of all aspects of State/Federal Regulatory and Cargill compliance programs including: EH&S, (Environmental health and Safety) Inventory Control, Warehousing, Security, Housekeeping, Food Safety, etc.

10% Travel depending on business needs.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience working effectively as part of a team

  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail

  • 6 months to 1 year experience managing an effective safety program

  • This position will require schedule changes according to fall harvest season.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be able and willing to work from heights (i.e. ladders, catwalks, etc.) and in an indoor/outdoor environment

  • Expectation to balance work schedule with other supervisors to accommodate flexibility in scheduling based on fluctuating business needs

  • Crop Inputs or personnel management experience preferred

  • Capable of delivering innovation

  • Operating efficiency and expense management skills

  • Strong communication and listening skills

  • Ability to influence decision-making

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proven problem solving and decision making skills
