Description

QA Tech has an important role to play in the daily operations of our facility. Their primary responsibility is to ensure both food safety and food quality of everything we produce. In this role, technicians are responsible for monitoring products throughout the production process, testing for quality and food safety. This job requires attention to detail, the ability to effectively communicate and uphold the high standards Cargill sets for the safety of its employees and products we produce. A position in FSQR requires working in extreme cold and hot environments and standing for up to 10 hours each day.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • 40% - Obtain and Test product samples and record results.

  • 20% - Maintenance of Receiving and Supplier Documents.

  • 15% - Monitor/Verify HACCP CCP’s, SSOP’s and GMP’s

  • 15% - Monitor all steps of the production process to ensure procedures are followed and product meets customer specifications

  • 10% - Other duties as assigned.

This position is posted internally as well as externally.

Relocation will not be provided for this position.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in food processing.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic math skills

  • Excellent computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook a must)

  • Good organizational and analytical problem-solving skills

  • Strong work ethic, drive, and initiative

  • Must be able to review documents against specifications and identify and report errors

Preferred

  • 4 year Bachelor’s degree or higher in scientific or technical field (microbiology, biology, chemistry, food science, animal science, etc.)

  • Technical knowledge in the areas of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs

  • Experience with fully cooked meat production and production of FDA soups and sauces, with technical competency in meat science
