Description

Position Purpose

To conceptualize & spearhead all the Sales Training initiatives for internal & out company sales personnel. Also development and execution of capability building plans for the sales personnel is essential.

  • Monitor & improve the Sales Training implementation for increasing effectiveness of the sales force

  • Execute & measure opportunities to enhance cargill image at the Retail by way of Training

  • Custodian for Training Programmes on Traditional and Modern Trade, Additional Channel, Bakery and Marketing operations at Market level.

  • Manage Sales Training Vendor(s) & Trainers and the Training content & software vendors

  • Analysis and Evaluation of Sales Training initiatives

  • Conducting TNAs and creating need based customized modules for Sales, Category & Channel, RTM.

  • Overall responsibility of utilizing Sales Training budgets effectively.

  • Coordination with business schools & professional institutes for customized Training and Development programs for the Sales Managers

  • Liaison with other comparable organizations for benchmarking Training & Development practices

  • Manage and execute sales incentive

  • Manage promoter agency and effectiveness

  • Lead and ensure effective MT program

  • Conducting DC & nurture talent

  • Managing E Learning

  • Initiate technology in training

Principal Accountabilities :

A. 40%

S ales role & responsibility

  • Define competency frame work

  • Create role & responsibility for each level

  • Map, monitor KPI

  • Bench marking with industry and evaluation

Functional & behavioural training

  • Understanding of PMP & Create TNA for in-company people

  • Design and develop content for market execution standards in traditional market & emerging channels , sales force effectiveness , leveraging commercial information etc

  • Deliver training modules for the frontline sales team and coach bottom performing ASM area

  • Build functional skill through “on the job” training

  • Monitor & improve the Sales Training implementation for increasing effectiveness of the sales force

  • Manage Sales Training Vendor(s) & Trainers and the Training content & software vendors

  • Analysis and Evaluation of Sales Training initiatives

B. 40%

Managing Talents

  • Coordination with business schools & professional institutes for customized training and development programs for the sales managers. Create and manage talent pool

  • Conduct development centre to create internal pipeline

Creating Pipeline

  • Creating Leaders for Future (YLP)

  • Hire Management Trainee from top B-schools ( e.g., IIM, XLRI; FMS )

  • Structured 1 year program (absorbed at first level leadership on successful completion)

Leadership Capability Stream

  • Focused on succession planning – Leadership positions

  • Cater to Leadership team – Their niche development areas

  • Develop / Groom Hi-Po Employees

C. 20%

Sales Incentive

  • Define, Mononitoring and benchmarking effective incentive scheme for entire Sales Force to meet organization objective

  • Sales recognitions programs – manage programs that create excitement, drive/ motivate employees to deliver superior performance. Create visibility through monthly updates

  • Define & evaluate all sales tools (I.e., product catalogue, sales manual (selling approach & techniques, merchandising & market hygiene guidelines)

Building and managing merchandising unit

  • People planning, training & development

Qualifications

Essential Functions/Requirements

  • Self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Capability to influence senior managers on development initiatives for the frontline & managerial cadre of Cargill as well as external trade partners
