To deliver and own new projects under the SCM function. To integrate the entire SCM value chain and drive innovation to maximize serviceability while minimizing costs for the entire BU.
A. SCM Integration - 30%
Understand clearly the role, function and value addition contributed by each component under the SCM function
Connect and interact frequently with Product Lines to gain deep understanding of their requirements from SCM function
Detail out how SCM can help product lines meet their business objectives and how to partner with them to enhance profitability for the BU
Act as an integrator between different verticals under the SCM function
Support high performance improvement projects
Support and/or lead enterprise level continuous improvement projects in support of the operational excellence strategy
B. Innovation Thinking & Actioning - 40%
Analyze the entire supply chain network and planning mechanisms to identify scope for improvement
Build hub and spoke model by creating and adding components wherever required – such as – identifying and acquiring warehouses in best suited locations
Optimize the supply chain and order fulfillment network on an ongoing basis
Implement technological upgradation or automation wherever it makes futuristic or financial sense
Optimize and contain serviceability costs for the function by undertaking multiple projects to build capacity for SCM
Project management for every new undertaking under SCM
Manage allocated costs and budgets to deliver these new projects and ensure ROI
Lead investigation and business case development for innovation needs for broad portfolio
C. Customization for Product Lines - 30%
Alter/upgrade various components or parts in the SCM to align with each product line’s strategy
Undertake new ventures or projects to service each product line better keeping in mind the unique needs of each of them
Communicate scope for improvement to product lines and achieve buy in for change implementation
Lead targeted ideation and improvements by utilizing tools and methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma Cargill Business Excellence System, and Cargill PPM/Project Delivery Process
Demonstrated experience in Project Management (Medium and Large projects)
Ability to interact with senior leaders and present and challenge new ideas- executive presence
Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills, ability to work with considerable ambiguity
Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and recommend innovative/visionary ideas for organizational growth
Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with broad cross section of business partners across the globe
Strong listening, oral and written skills
Management of collaboration, issue resolution, and performance improvement
Solving integrated supply chain and business issues through partnering with cross-functional collaboration
Working with cross functional leaders in a highly matrixed organization
Domain knowledge in procurement, supply chain, operations management in global manufacturing environment
Graduate in Business/Operations Management
5-8 years in a role managing projects under supply chain for a nation-wide player in the FMCG sector and business experience in operations, finance or any other core business functions.
Experience across multiple supply chain competencies: Logistics, Planning, Customer Service, etc.
Demonstrated ability to connect functional execution to business strategy
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Collaborative approach to problem solving
Demonstrated capability to successfully partner with peers and senior business leaders.
Experienced in change management
Good analytical skills with strong process mindset
Self-motivated, results oriented with focus on continuous improvement
Experience in Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.
General understanding of organizational change management.
Preferred PMI Certified Project Manager
Experience in ARIES
