Job location(s): Hamburg-Rothenburgsort

The Plant Accountant will be responsible for Cost Optimization efforts, owns the variable and fixed costs analysis on Gross Margin and is the Finance Tag for Operations. He leads the Budget process for the site and acts as Backup for Month end Activities and Reporting.

Major Tasks

  • Leads costing process optimization (reliability, consistency with management report, automation).

  • Responsible for continuous improvement on production costs forecast (finance tag for local IBP and POT processes).

  • Provides support to supply chain and manufacturing process optimization (accountable for Stock Health Management process and KPI monitoring process).

  • Owns variable and fixed costs analysis on gross margin (tag with site management).

  • Acts with cost saving initiatives and efficiencies improvement (financial tag for local Delivery Office project).

  • Validates financials for Base capital expenditures projects

  • Leads budget process

  • Back up for month end activities and reporting.

  • Owns stock control process

  • Local finance tag for shared services (Finance & IT)


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • University degree as Industrial Engineer or in Business Administration (preferably Controlling) or another equivalent education

  • Min. 3-5 years’ experience in Plant accounting / finance or comparable position

  • Affinity to technical processes as well as a good understanding of and commitment to internal controls

  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines

  • Result-driven, open personality with a pro-active and self-motivated attitude

  • Fluent in German & English (written/verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a complex and changing environment with the need for flexibility

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and communication skills

  • Being a “Team-Player”

  • Knowledge of Production Costing

  • Strong PC skills using MS-Office (emphasis in Excel) and embedded ERP Systems

  • Preferably knowledge of SAP CO-Module and Material Ledger
