Position Purpose:

This position is a key member of the Financial Shared Services RTR Accounting team, which provides accounting services for Cargill Business Units and Functions. This person is responsible for General Ledger Accounting activities; includingaccounting for administrative expenses, allocations, monthly journal entries, month-end general ledger close, financial consolidations and reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations. This position will be required to cross train in the RTR Accounting team to create depth and provide support to other team members. May serve as backup for critical tasks for other members.

Main Responsabilities

75% Financial Accounting:

  • Act as primary point of contact for selected functional groups or business unit partners for which you are the primary accountant as Controllers as much Spanish as English communications. Ensure all internal controls are in place and monitored, financial processes are performed timely and accurately, and all accounting is done in accordance with Cargill Policies and GAAP.

  • Perform Business Unit/Functional accounting services ensuring correct financial data.

  • Perform period end close processes, timely and accurately, ensuring correct financial data.

  • Perform monthly SG&A expenses analysis, ensuring accurately reported.

  • Prepare BU/Function reporting to highlight financial result analysis, ensure all is in compliance with US GAAP and local tax rule.

  • Prepare and complete financial consolidations and reporting schedules, monthly, quarterly, and annually, ensuring all is accurate before submission.

  • Prepare and complete Balance Sheet reconciliation ensuring all account balances are appropriately supported and comply with Cargill’s Balance Sheet Account Reconcialition and Analysis policy.

  • Provide financial support to BU’s/Functions.

  • Support annual statutory auditing and tax function for any analysis reporting for assigned BU.

  • Work with BU to comply with GAAP and local tax requirements.

  • Participate in process improvement/miscellaneous projects within Finance Shared Services.

  • Cross train within Accounting team to create depth and provide support to other team members. May serve as backup for critical tasks for other members.

15% Business Partnering:

  • Effective and timely communication with BU/Function wherever necessary.

  • Provide accounting/finance support for BU/Function, as requested.

  • Participate in BU/Function meetings, as requested.

  • Work as support and backup for the RTR Supervisor

5% Compliance & Process Efficiency:

  • Meet all agreed KPI and complete services within the SLA.

  • Review financial accounting processes and key internal control point to monitor alignment with the standard

5% Compliance & Process Efficiency:

  • Review accounting processes and escalate deviations to Team Leader.

  • Maintain all documentation and update timely.

  • Initiate, suggest and demonstrate process improvement

Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or university in progress.

Minimum of four years of accounting experience.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Outlook)

Strong customer service

Prefered Qualification

Knowledge of JD Edwards and Cartesis
