Job location(s): Hereford

This role is working for Cargill’s European poultry business at one of our factory production sites.

The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate operational activities for the site, as well as motivating a team of operatives. You will be responsible for ensuring that operatives produce quality products which meet customer requirements, on time and to specification in a safe and efficient manner, within agreed cost standards. The successful candidate will be working in a fast paced environment.

Main Tasks:

  • To supervise operators ensuring efficiency of process

  • Ensure agreed key performance indicators are met including targets, line rates, quality and yields

  • Ensure excess wastage is monitored and controlled

  • Ensure the quality of the product meets customer specifications

  • Ensure employee and product safety at all times by completing full training according to task procedures and individual needs

  • Maintain adherence to company safety and hygiene standards

  • Ensure a safe work environment and complete any health and safety documentation

  • Managing basic SAP

  • Management of team including tensor, holidays, welfare, performance reviews & coaching, engagement, highlight training gaps and needs, disciplines, performance management and absent management

  • Ensure all Company policies, standards, processes are met and adhered to by all personnel on shift.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory/management experience - essential

  • Effective communication and team development skills – essential

  • Basic Computer skills - essential

  • Secondary level education

  • NVQ in level 3 or 4 in Management or equivalent

  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience within a FMCG industry (preferably within the food processing industry) with 2 years production experience at supervisory level.

  • Or – proven ability in an operative or skilled position, with the willingness to undertake further qualification if required
