Operations Management Internship:

As an Operations Management Intern, you will gain exposure to the workflow of plant and/or distribution operations. Potential business areas may include beef and poultry processing or grain processing. Interns will be given a project to improve a facet of the current operation, have the opportunity to use the skills you have gained in the classroom to a real life setting, and have the ability to take on additional projects that interest you.

Internship Programming:

  • Internships are paid and are at least 16 weeks in duration.

  • Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.

  • Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year.

  • Manitoba: Oakner

  • Saskatchewan: Moose Jaw

  • Alberta: High River, Rycroft/Fairview

  • Plant setting



  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in any discipline and graduating between December 2018 and May 2020.

  • Willingness to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures

  • All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in Canada

  • Able to complete a 16-week internship in the summer (May/June - August 2018)

  • Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance

  • Pursuing an agriculture or business-related degree (including but not limited to Animal Science, Ag-Economics, Ag-Business, Ag-Education, Agronomy, Food Science, Feed Science, Meat Science, Grain Science, Operations Management, Ag-Systems Management, Ag-Engineering, Supply Chain, Mechanized Systems Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Distribution).
