Job location(s): Mechelen, Belgium

As Business Development Manager, you will lead one of our global, cross-product line growth themes that focus on further establishing our position in sustainably sourced and label-friendly ingredients. You will be responsible to create actionable insights on the drivers of markets & consumers in this space and deliver on-trend solutions.

Major Tasks

  • Driving development of synergistic offering across regions and product lines as outlined in our strategy.

  • Leveraging marketing, technology, and product line teams to create a plan to become the (thought) leader in offering sustainably sourced and label-friendly ingredients.

  • Utilizing experience of marketing, strategy & business development practices to provide innovative and high quality, organizational, financial and operational support to the CTS business in the targeted growth theme.

  • Leading multi-functional, cross-regional project teams to deliver business results.

  • Developing and monitoring financial progress of our strategic themes with Financial Planning & Analysis, sharing with leadership and throughout the organization.

  • Driving customer intimacy with targeted accounts and serving as the subject matter expert of this growth theme.


  • Master’s Degree and minimum of 10 years of work experience, preferably in the food industry in a marketing affiliated area.

  • Strong understanding of sustainable sourcing & sustainability demands in the FMCG industry.

  • Work experience can include strategic business development, M&A, planning & implementation role of innovative product, technology and/or marketing strategies.

  • Ability to successfully work in a cross-functional, matrixed organization.

  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical and financial modelling skills.

  • Experience in developing strategy, game boards and portfolio review.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Ability to move forward with ideas and projects in spite of ambiguity.

  • Superior communication skills (fluent English) with the ability to interact effectively with senior level executives.

  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally approximately 25% of the time.
