Your Opportunity

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to join the Cargill Agriculture Supply Chain (CASC) business as the Environment, Health and Safety Manager. As part of our vibrant EHS Asia-Pacific Regional team, you will take the lead on environment, health and safety matters for CASC Australia, in alignment with business needs. Your scope will cover 3 crush plants, a refinery and 22 grainflow sites across Australia.

Having come from a similar role and industry, you will also be responsible for:

  • Developing, deploying and driving continuous improvement of EHS programs and results for CASC Australia.

  • Leading the deployment of CASC Achieve Zero Transformation Strategy (AZT) in CASC Australia.

  • Partnering closely with local leadership (both business & Ops) to drive and champion positive safety leadership culture across the various plants/sites.

  • Establishing the brand of EHS through education, coaching, proactive engagement and best practice sharing with leadership and employees.

  • Training and developing EHS talents within the team, as well as building up EHS knowledge and accountability across the various departments.

  • Ensuring compliance to local regulatory requirements as well as corporate EHS requirements.

As the EHS Manager, you will be required to travel within Australia to our plants and sites on a regular basis.

Qualifications

All about you

We are looking for an energetic and motivational individual who possesses the follow:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related health and safety or environmental discipline

  • 10 years' relevant experience in Health & Safety EHS / risk management related role in a multinational company

  • Experience in working at Oilseeds Crush or Grain plants/sites will an advantage.

  • Experience in managing multiple locations and deployment of programs/initiatives.

  • Proven success in driving EHS performance and safety leadership culture.

  • Strong EHS technical skills and the ability to quickly understand the various differences in statutory (regulatory) requirements in Australia and OSHA (USA) and HSE (Europe) and apply the higher standard to CASC operations.

  • Experience in Incident Investigations and EHS Auditing and is familiar with Hazop/Swift and PSRM requirements. Prior involvement in process operations, engineering systems and project management relating to EHS will be an added advantage.

  • Experience in construction safety, contractor safety management, EHS due diligence in mergers/ acquisitions/divestiture, implementation and able to navigate the challenges of managing EHS management systems, risk based programs, legal requirements and international certifications (e.g. ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 etc.).

  • Proven ability to navigate the dynamic diversity of culture, customs and expectations in Australia, standards and is experienced to operate under OSHA requirements.

  • Possess analytical skills to identify trends and conduct root cause analysis. Is savvy with technology.

  • Ability to deal and work effectively with enforcement agencies such as EPA and OSHA.
