Description

Position Purpose

This key position enables the CPN CHINA business to enhance it’s commercial growth agenda on swine products, concepts and services as part of the overall portfolio that is being offered to our customers.

Principal Accountabilities

40% Technology Deployment

  • Responsible for systematic roll out of technology developed (product, concept or service launches) in the Strategic Marketing and Technology (SMT) organization to our customers and prospects in close cooperation with our application teams, commercial teams and our marketing function

  • Responsible for performance of our product portfolio and keeping us ahead of our competitors

  • Organize and provide training & best practice sharing within the region to make sure all relevant team members have the necessary knowledge to successfully position our swine portfolio

  • Visiting key accounts in close cooperation with our application and commercial teams to implement technology and get feedback from the field.

25% Strategic implementation and SMT work

  • Responsible for developing and executing the species strategy for the region including the regional species budget

  • Deliver upon regional species budget (measured in volume and gross margin )

  • Ensure alignment of regional strategy with global SMT strategy for swiney

  • Active participation in global SMT Swine meetings and conference calls to create effective technology leverages throughout our global swine organization

  • Organize and lead the team effectively to ensure realization of the strategic plan goals

20% Technology development ideation

  • Gather new ideas and feedback from the field (customers, commercial, technical teams, other stakeholders) about our products, concepts or services and carry this over to SMT to support further improvement or development.

  • Filter out ideas or research questions with a local character:

o Define which ones need to turn into a project to be persued by the local team

o Develop the business plan with involvement of marketing function and present to management

o Upon approval ensure proper project management and delivery

  • Active interaction with STM’s of other regions and participation on research work done at regional Technical Application Centers (TAC’s) to ensure leverage of available knowledge and providing ideas for applied research

15% Talent development and connectivity

  • Ensure proper staffing of the species technology group in the region

  • Ensure proper and regular training of existing personnel as well as finding and growing new talent

  • Setup proper development plans for each team member to ensure continuous building of a high performance team

  • Direct contacts to key customers, genetic companies, veterinarians, academia and other key stakeholders in the region

Qualifications

Essential Functions/Requirements

  • Demonstrated proven success in development, application or leadership of technology to support business growth

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, influence and collaboration in a decentralized organizational structure

  • Experienced in leading leaders, providing coaching, and developing talent

  • Over 5 years demonstrated expertise in swine nutrition, feed manufacturing and swine production or applicable field

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills

  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal

  • Travel >30%

Education, Experience, Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Phd degree (or equivalent experience) in animal nutrition or other related study

  • Fluent in English
