Responsible for applying general understanding of Environment, Health and Safety practices and standards for the Nebraska City facility. Provides location leadership and direction in the following areas of focus: development and implementation of EHS strategy, maintenance and continuous improvement of EHS results, shaping of the internal EHS culture, management of location ergonomic program, and supervision and development of EHS staff.
30% Facilitates the EHS process for the Cargill Nebraska City, NE facility as defined by the EHS Manager.
20% Initiates and implements EHS management programs and processes for the plant to include supervisor training, employee EHS awareness, and the development and continuous improvement of the location ergonomics program.
20% Responsible for regulatory compliance programs including EPA, OSHA and DOT safety regulations as applicable. This includes program development, training activities, record keeping and accident investigation when necessary.
10% Data analysis to identify injury trends and create aggressive risk reduction plans to eliminate injuries and property
10% Conduct routine inspections/audits-identify hazards and facilitate corrective action in a timely manner
10% Supervise, develop, and support EHS staff, collaborate with location management and Health Services staff, any other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in an EHS-related discipline
1 year or more of direct Supervisory/Management experience
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA laws and regulations
Must possess the ability to build peer, subordinate, and other level relationships within the organization
Computer skills including Microsoft Office
Advanced Degree in EHS-related discipline
2 or more years Supervisory/Management experience in an EHS field
First Aid Training
