Position Purpose

Lead and help to optimize Cargill Malts Supply Chain and S&OP planning. A critical business role, covering the LATAM Region.

Reporting to the Global Supply Chain and S&OP Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of strategy and the coordination of barley supply and malt demand , in order to improve, refine and adapt sales and operations planning processes for your geographical region.

As part of the regional management team you will be the point of contact for the region for all Supply Chain end to end items including but not limited to: S&OP, Inbound and outbound logistics, Storage, Customs, Inventory, Product Availability and Delivery service to the customer.

Responsible for the holistic review of the end to end supply chain, you will work closely with Production, Merchandising, Barley origination, Technical Services and Commercial Sales, to ensure supply and demand translates into optimized plant output and timely delivery to the customer.

Principal Accountabilities

Ensuring Business Unit and Operations, Logistics and Planning process and methodology is adopted, tailored per site and executed efficiently across the Region

40% Strategy

  • Co-lead the Integrated Business Planning implementation and execution.

  • Develop an efficient Craft distribution business model across the region

  • End to End responsibility of the supply chain from demand planning to customer delivery

  • Securing storage capacity both inbound and outbound in line with production and shipment planning at minimized cost.

  • Devise and executing an effective Demand Planning process that maximises cost reductions

  • Monitoring marketplace trends and staying informed of advances in supply/demand chain technology;

60% Business Results

  • Coordinating the optimization and execution of production planning, supply chain procurement, inventory control, forecasting, sales planning, warehousing, transportation, logistics, budgets and overall customer service with on time delivery;

  • Co-responsible with barley origination/operations/quality and logistics teams of maximizing value of barley supply chain and of malt integrity shipped to customer.

  • Managing the logistics network. Ensuring timely and administrative compliance of domestic and export deliveries to customers Engaging, influencing and collaborating with a number of key stakeholders across the region.

Other Requirements

  • Relevant leadership experience in a geographically disperse, multi-line supply chain environment;

  • Lead & motivate a high performing SC team servicing the region

  • Experience in team management, logistics, planning and S&OP;

  • Knowledge of planning systems and tools;

  • Exposure to production, sourcing, customers;

  • Project Management skills and Master Data Management;

  • Excellent planning skills: demand/ production/ inventory/S&OP/ IBP skills, preferably in a multisite environment;

  • Organisational skills;

  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to work effectively in a diverse, multi-lingual environment;

  • Ability to work with complexity and ambiguity;

  • Able to work with rapid change, be agile and adaptable;

  • Able to make sound, ‘quick concerted decisions;

  • Work in a unionized environment

  • Sound supply chain expertise;

  • Ability to work in a Matrix organisation


Required Qualifications


  • University degree

  • Fluency in English language


  • 5 year of logistic experience

  • Food or a highly technical industry background


  • Have excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills

  • Execution ability. Strong attention to details.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Systems

Preferred Qualifications


  • Post graduate qualifications, Lean/Six Sigma and food industry exposure will be highly regarded


  • Experience with SAP or SAP implementations
