Description

Support Gap Analysis Identification & Gap closure to Best Practices and Process and Performance improvement (50%)

Leads production teams across dedicated GEOS Europe oil refinery sites to analyze, develop and implement operating standards and procedures. Assess technical performance of unit operations; identifies gaps and practical improvement solutions.

Centrally oversees, Prioritizes, Plans implementation and deploys with local teams and execute (by adjustments, modifications, capital).

Implement Best Practices to continuously improve safety and food safety

  • Uses industry acumen and in-depth technology specific expertise to identify areas for improvement or enhancing the performance of all unit operations (machinery and process) of GEOS Europe oil refinery sites.

  • Continuously analyses and measures the effectiveness of improvements, and makes decisions for additional improvements to applications, processes and procedures that are less defined (including safety and efficiency aspects).

  • Provides regular oversight for the implementation of improvement projects, plans, technics, tools and quality standards across GEOS Europe Refinery sites.

  • Support plant teams with troubleshooting. Leads teams to identify causes and solutions, and ensures decision outcomes are followed effectively.

  • Uses comprehensive knowledge and application of principles, concepts, industry (manufacturing technology) best practices and standards. Researches and develops continuous improvement tools and methods.

Support the GEOS Europe Refineries to get to best practices and further improve the best practices. This can be using existing best practice gap analysis or deep dives into the process settings. It includes process safety, yield, variable costs and also improvements in the technology to ensure good leading and lagging indicators (chemical calculators, mass balance, TUC gap etc.).

Technology Training (30%)

Identifies required level of specific knowledge for plant teams required to ensure excellent execution of operating tasks and troubleshooting.

Facilitate practical trainings.

Writing, implementing/presenting technology training on unit operations or on process technology. This can be part of supervisor meetings/trainings, on-site workshops or writing training packages.

Support Best Practice Implementation into projects (10%)

Supports projects within GEOS Europe refineries with total cost of ownership calculations & ensures best practices are implemented into the projects.

Support Management of Change Requests (5%)

MOC process for changes in sites. Ensuring that best practices are incorporated and supporting that sites also involve the correct SME’s in the MOC.

Identification and Development of Best Practices (5%)

Support the identification of best practices when in locations and support the development of best practices within the WW Refinery MTL/COE group

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in chemical, mechanical or food engineering

  • 3 years’ experience in a food production environment (edible oil refinery or comparable)

  • Communicator – Good listener, able to present complicated matter in a clear way both written and verbally, engaging in discussions, basic negotiation skills.

  • Interpersonal Skills – Team player, respectful, reach out for assistance and offer assistance

  • Technical Skills – good understanding of vegetable oil refining

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Good understanding of Pi, ACAD, MS Project, green belt/black belt trained, statistical analysis techniques

  • Basic financial knowledge (base, non-base projects)

  • Good knowledge of all unit operations in refining and both hard fats & oils processing
