Responsible for development, management and leadership of all supply chain capabilities (Planning, Logistics, Order Fulfillment & Customer Service) for the CAN MEA business. Current main locations are Turkey, Jordan and South Africa and warehousing locations in Egypt and Kenya. This includes both strategic and tactical aspects of supply chain structure and execution. Aligns supply chain execution with business strategy, customer segmentation and product portfolio development. Drives continuous improvement process with a visible effect on established key supply chain metrics. Manages accountability and development for all supply chain personnel in the business. The position will work closely with the Global Supply Chain team to align supply chain design, processes and systems with CAN business strategy appropriate for the region. The incumbent has MADJV experience as this is an important part (75%) of the CAN MEA growth strategy

40% Develop, Deploy & Improve Supply Chain Capabilities

Lead implementation of supply chain capabilities in the business, to include: the full IBP planning effort, Logistics (both inbound and outbound transportation and warehousing), Inventory management, Order fulfillment and Customer Service. Develop, deploy and maintain necessary capabilities to improve supply chain execution with the goal of profitably keeping promises made to customers. Lead and develop the organization necessary to fully execute all aspects of the business supply chain. Provide value to the business by assessing gaps in capabilities and/or performance, and guiding the business to build necessary capabilities to improve execution.

25% Business Partner

Recognizing that supply chain execution is a cross functional effort, engage with other business functional leads to establish a strong planning capability and to fully understand the business strategy in order to prioritize supply chain initiatives and assess appropriate supply chain design to achieve expected business results. Work closely with both CTL and CSSP to plan and execute necessary logistics and sourcing needs for the business. Network with other Cargill BG Supply Chain Managers, as well as those outside of Cargill, to enhance internal connectivity and bring external insight to our business execution.

20% Talent

Directly manage Supply Chain team (full scope covers Planning, Logistics, Inventory Management and Customer Service). Understand the talent needs of the organization to perform supply chain activities. Work with Business MD and Regional SC Lead to help assess and place appropriate talent, as needed to support business goals. Building a talent pipeline is crucial to enable our inorganic growth strategy. Coach individuals/teams, building strong capabilities and future leaders. Work with HR to ensure succession plans are in place for key supply chain positions.

15% Change & Culture

Drive broader engagement of supply chain capabilities and collaboration among other departments, specifically with Commercial, FP&A, SMT, RMS and Ops. Focus on process improvements with an Operations Excellence attitude. Promote best practice implementation by investigating failures, identify and understand root causes, drive continuous improvement through sharing results. Track and communicate key supply chain metrics especially related to customer experience, adherence to plan, inventory and cost competitiveness.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years Supply Chain Management experience;

  • Bachelor degree;

  • Demonstrated ability across multiple supply chain competencies: Logistics, Planning, Customer Service, etc.;

  • Demonstrated ability to connect functional execution to business strategy;

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills;

  • Demonstrated strong relationship building skills; effectively builds trust across work groups;

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with peers and senior business leaders;

  • Experience managing teams to high performance results;

  • Able to lead amidst ambiguity and change; able to influence without direct line authority;

  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical skills;

  • Self-motivated, results oriented with focus on continuous improvement;

  • Experience working in a culturally diverse organization;

  • Experience with Mergers, Acquisitions and Joint-Ventures onboarding.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS CPIM Certification;

  • Prior experience managing multiple projects;

  • SAP Experience – especially with APO and TM modules;

  • Multinational experience;

  • Work experience in a highly matrixed organization;

  • Bilingual (English with additional language(s) appropriate for the region).
