Create the path for GEOS (Global Edible Oil Solutions) profitable and sustainable growth in target market category by:
Leading Industry, market, customer and competitor research and analysis to deliver best in class commercial intelligence & insights in selected category
Integrate insights and intelligence, providing thought leadership and developing, recommending and securing commitment for a clear growth strategy for selected category.
Establish and Lead a virtual global category team to develop and deploy a go to market plan with disciplined execution of a portfolio of growth initiatives to achieve targets.
Lead key innovation and other growth projects related to selected category growth and go-to-market plan lead or participate in other marketing & strategy projects as required,
Deliver best in class commercial intelligence & insights in selected market category:
Collect and organize information from internal and external sources to identify direction for business growth – industry trends, consumer insights, customer inputs, government and regulatory issues, STEEP, SWOT.
Work via category core team to incent effective communication & information transfer across key functions (R&D, commercial). Collect insights from regional teams – work with FP&A and strategic pricing to collect and interpret competitor data and insights. Collaborate with other groups and corporate functions to leverage data and insights.
Develop a thorough market map of edible oils demand, consumption trends, changing needs & ‘’customer jobs to be done’’, opportunity spaces and customer behaviors in target category.
Conduct direct customer engagement and attend selected industry forums in collaboration with regional and customer account teams
Develop, recommend and secure commitment for a clear growth strategy in selected market category:
Develop thought leadership and identification of growth opportunities & go to market choices: where to play and how to win.
Adopt consistent GEOS strategic marketing tools and processes; integrate all commercial intelligence in systematic way
Using customer segmentation, product line architecture, relative offering comparison etc. – develop value propositions & drive innovation for target customers that will deliver strategic advantage vs. competitors.
Working via the core team and regional teams facilitate dialogue & build recommendation on choices & growth targets, target customers & innovation & product portfolio, market share, pricing strategy etc.
Identify & develop business case for building the necessary capabilities to deliver upon the future value proposition. Working with Strategic Marketing Director, R&D director manage the ideas pipeline, scoping projects for recommendation to ‘’win with customer’’ PRT. Deliver ideas for ‘’win with customer projects’’ with solid business cases.
Working with Strategic Marketing Director, Category Steering Team and the group LT – advocate choices & gain commitment for the final plan & goals addressing any risks or miss-alignments
Establish and lead a virtual, global category team to develop and deploy go to market plan in selected category:
Working through the category core team, and their functional, regional network translate the category strategy into a disciplined go to market plan with clear ownership for delivering key growth initiatives, building capabilities and delivering enhanced value propositions. Use marketing tools to provide thought leadership on pricing strategies.
Working with R&D function – ensure effective transfer of technologies and solutions across regions.
Working with FP&A and Strategic Marketing Director ensure tracking and reporting of progress versus goals, including providing input to IBP portfolio and demand review steps. Provide thought leadership, pro-actively solicit feedback from regions & deploy continuous improvement cycles to the plan and key processes.
Ensure effective internal and external communication (including positioning and marcom activities), providing ‘’reason to believe’’ - recognize teams and successes and address performance issues with individuals and steering team as appropriate.
Lead key innovation and other growth projects:
Act as project lead or marketing expert for significant, H2/3 innovation projects and/or other growth related projects as necessary. Deploying consistent marketing tools, PDP methodology - ensuring intellectual rigor in business cases and assumptions and driving for on time, in scope/budget commercialization.
Lead or participate in other projects for the group/strategic marketing as required
University Degree level
10 years marketing & commercial experience in B2B space (with direct B2B customer experience & minimum 5 years in strategic role)
Experience of conducting market research and analysis and using/managing external data sources
Experience of interpreting market research & ‘’end to end’’ process for establishing & delivering full marketing plans and commercializing new products/solutions
Experience of successfully designing and delivering value propositions based on services.
Experience of leading projects (leading projects and people) – leading virtual teams, working in a matrix.
B2B environment - R&D intense and complex ‘’matrix’’ corporate environment
Ability to work virtually and with limited direct supervision
Ability to move seamlessly back and forth between planning and execution
Systems Thinker & Externally oriented- Ability to draw connections between the outside and inside world and between different internal functions
Strong business acumen – ability to translate all insights into robust business case with clarity on value drivers and risks
Develop thorough knowledge on specific industry
Future focused: Ability to move from facts and trends to predictions, assumptions and scenarios of the future with intellectual rigor
Ability to work comfortably with both quantitative and qualitative data and insights
Fluency in English
University Degree level – with strategic marketing OR Scientific Degree with MBA
Formal Change management education
5 years strategic marketing experience
Demonstrated success in developing and delivering growth initiatives and/or innovative solutions via a virtual team
Experience in product lines or markets at all stages of life cycle
Influencing organization to grow in new directions.
Possible commercial role(s) in the target industry / stage of the value chain(category)
Developing and delivering marketing communication and presenting at industry forums
Knowledge of the selected category, industry and customers. Familiarity with related consumer and customer trends
Knowledge of oils and fats industry, supply chains, trade flows, applications etc.
Understanding of market trade flows and price/cost levers
Knowledge of target market category personnel and associations
Fats and Oils / Lipid technical knowledge
