Cargill Schuyler, NE has an exciting opportunity in our waste water department. This position performs all daily operations and all associated record keeping including mainteance of the waste water facility to maintain environmental compliance with local, state, federal and internal requirements. This is an hourly management position that may be working 12 hour shifts on differing shifts.

Operators will be responsible for the start-up, shut down and process monitoring of the wastewater area. There are many tasks associated with this job and operators must be trained on and refer to all Standard Operating Procedures for the assigned tasks. Operators must follow procedure steps in the correct order and while wearing the appropriate equipment. Operators will be trained on lock out/tag out, chemical handling, and elevated work. Additional training may be required throughout the course of the job.



Weekends, evenings and overtime may be required.

Must have flexible schedule and ability to adjust schedule as needed.

12 hour shifts possible.

Basic Requirements

Ability to speak, read and write English fluently

Ability to perform basic mathematical functions

Ability to obtain a valid NE drivers license

Ability to obtain a Waste Water license in Nebraska (class II) within 1 year

Ability to perform basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Ability to demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude and perform mainteance on equipment.

Ability to operate large mobile equipment (frontend loader, skid loader, forklift, pumps, mowers, trimmers, dump truck, irrigation pivot, etc.)

Knowledge Requirements:

Know and Understand the Emergency Evacuation & Action Plans

Know the leak response procedures

Know the alarms and set points

Know and understand critical procedures

Know locations and identifications of job related areas (Brine Lagoon, Laboratory, etc)

General bio gas blower system function and operation

General water system function and operation

Observed Requirements

Ability to perform general system repair (leaks, valves, etc)

Ability to perform general system maintenance (change oil, filters, etc)

Know the following operating procedures:

PLC operation; manipulation of control

PLC as a system check tool (data collection and analyzing)

Blower startup and shutdown

Biosolids startup and shutdown

Ability to detect a system leak

Basic electrical panel knowledge: visual inspection for tripped breakers, etc.

Ability to understand and perform basic lab procedures
