Position Purpose :
The Group Strategy Lead helps to accelerate growth for Animal Nutrition. This role works and embeds in the Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) system focused on developing strategy (global to region), executing the strategy, and strengthening the competitiveness to deliver customer value. This position will work globally (within and across countries), fast-pace environment, manage complexity with stakeholders (Animal Nutrition Enterprise, Group, Business, others), challenging business opportunities (new ventures, transformation, etc), enabling growth (inorganic, organic), and impacting the financial. Additional expectations include develop strategic plans, architect competitive capabilities, guide business transformations, advise senior leaders, and develop business leaders. Success in this position aligned to Cargill Leadership Expectations, CAN long-term growth, and overall business influence. Today, the CAN enterprise includes Feed & Nutrition (CFN), Premix & Nutrition (CPN), and Aqua Nutrition (CQN) Groups with operations in over 40 countries serving customers in over 100 countries.
35% Strategy impact – work with business leaders (Group Directors, Managing Directors, etc) to develop and execute strategy that strengthens the Animal Nutrition system. Strategy project work may vary from geography to category in strengthening the system, along with the competitive capabilities and gameboard work. This position is responsible to complete strategy, lead leaders, apply leading-edge strategy practices, manage change with stakeholders, developing gameboards, build high-performance teams, and develop leaders. This role will link with local business and build a strategy practice.
35% Lead people – connect with leaders, organize teams, clarify expectations, and develop strategy practitioners, and build leaders for the Animal Nutrition enterprise to ensure completed work meets expectations. This requires working thru timelines, challenges, and learning so as to stretch leaders and ensure projects deliver on promises (scope, timeline, budget)
20% Strategy portfolio – lead and manage a portfolio aligned to the business priorities (enterprise, group, business) so as to strengthen the CAN competitiveness actionable strategy projects. Additional consideration provided to influence business leaders, sponsor portfolio/projects, add critical thinking/insights and ensure the strategy execution framework is put in place.
10% Resource needs – source talent needs for strategic portfolios/projects, sponsor strategy work, and complete financial budgets

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education of Bachelor’s degree in business or related animal nutrition field
Experience of 10 years with proven track record and customer focus
Business skills for successful business growth, portfolio & project management, and fiduciary impact
Leadership skills with senior leaders, stakeholder management, project teams, and cultural diversity
Competency in developing strategy, developing business, analytical skills, lead change, interpersonal skills (verbal, listening, working with others), and entrepreneurial approach (sense-of-urgency, relentless determination), and resource planning (financials, talent)
Travel globally up to 15-35% where animal nutrition conducts business
Based in Cargill office, such as Minneapolis MN, Amsterdam NL, or Shanghai CN
Education of Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Experience in animal nutrition, global business, or food production
Business skills with investment banking, corporate development, financial models
Leadership with operating a business P/L, developing leaders
Fluency in Mandarin, Spanish, or Portuguese
