To further strengthen CPN China FP&A capabilities in Planning and Budgeting Process, Financial Forecast, Business Performance measurement, Business Opportunities finding, Strategic Planning and Supply Chain optimization etc., the Senior Business FP&A Analyst main accountabilities will be: Annual P&B process coordination; Monthly Variance Analysis; Business performance evaluation, benchmarking and trend tracing; in depth analysis on business segments results by portfolio, pricing, COGS etc.; Business Opportunities scenarios analysis and advice, Options/Scenarios analysis for Strategic plans decision-making; Supply Chain value capturing analysis and improvement opportunities identification etc.
This role need have forward looking mindset and a breadth vision for business segments in above focus areas across China all plants; Actively approaching and establish strong partnership with business and major support functions, including leadership teams, will be critical success factor for this role. The Senior Business FP&A Analyst proactively connects to main stakeholders with integrity, openness, and transparency, persistently looks for value creation opportunities to help business sustainably achieve extradinary results .
Principal Accountabilities :
60% Business Planning & Forecasting, Performance evaluation:
Work with Accounting and Finance team (Decision support) to design unified management reports;
Assist CPN FP&A lead in organizing annual P&B process, coordinate with A&F and business to provide smart budget setting with solid assumptions;
Perform monthly actual vs. budget and vs. LY analysis with identifying major drivers for performance variances;
Perform Monthly P&L forecast for CPN China
Provide in depth analysis on SG&A, including T&E tracking, variance from HQ and functional charges and pursue cost efficiency improvement opportunities
With the guidance of CPN FP&A lead to design standard business segments results monthly templates to further analyze root causes for Material Margin variance of business segments by region (e.g. variance caused by Products portfolio, by Ingredients cost, by formulation updates etc.)
Prepare Operating Working Capital and Free Cash Flow estimate/forecast by entities, progressively improve the estimate accuracy on OWC and Free cash flow
Assist FP&A Lead in executing ROGI analysis to align with business strategy
Cooperate with Pricing team to conduct monthly pricing overview and ensure pricing status align with pricing strategy
Leverage Smart Glass tool to continuously enforce value capturing through value based pricing concept including building up business cases and periodically tracking value
Work with HR and business to propose performance metrics, KPIs for commercials and key support functions (e.g. supply chain, operations etc.)
Develop benchmarking data to drive high efficiencies and better results for commercials and key support functions
Proactively offer business insights on existing processes and further drive processes changes to gain efficiencies
Actively involved in business segments daily operations to pursue value capturing from current process
Connect with Innovation teams to develop methodologies to quantify the profits from NPSS projects
Take initiatives to support business in developing new segments and related performance metrics
30% Projects/Programs and Ad-Hoc Support:
Assist FP&A lead in several major projects: upcoming plant relocation project financial scenarios analysis, M&A financial evaluation, Branding project financial impact assessment, Supply Chain efficiency improvement evaluation etc.
Utilize and improve existing frameworks and reports to enhance the analytical environment.
Improve month closing process while identify gaps and establish new key performance metrics where appropriate.
Provide analytical support for the CAN Regional FP&A activity
Active participation in various business finance initiatives and other duties as assigned
Strong and permanent liase with the other FP&A expertise domains to identify and leverage growth opportunities while getting an holistic view of the business across the geography.
Supports the enterprise/business with new business activities and issues resolution, business transactions, tax and customs issues, and liaising with legal and other cross-functional departments as necessary.
10% Supply Chain:
Partner with Supply Chain team on logistics fee analysis and propose optimized logistics solutions (mainly focus on freight contracts structure and optimization), other opportunities on warehouse rental etc.
Work with demand planner to design appropriate demand forecast templates with sufficient information on SKUs, further strengthen sales forecast accuracy
Be familiar with SOP and IBP, cooperate to drive efficiencies in raw material purchasing plan and Operations management (e.g. inventory management, safety stock level analysis)
Develop benchmarking metrics for entire Supply Chain, drive cost saving opportunities in freight, logistics, warehouse fee etc.
Frequent domestic travel within China will be required in the early stage of this position to be familiar with business segments and operating models.
Education, Experience, Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other Business related degree
Minimum of 5 years FP&A relevant experience
Demonstrate strong business acumen. Able to understand the business (products/services, customers, processes) and their key drivers of success
Demonstrate high degree of curiosity. Invest time and energy into learning. Seeks different points of view and perspectives (internal and external).
Demonstrated system thinking capability to connect dots and simplify complex situations into straightforward patterns
Proficient English in both written and oral
Strong leadership skills and personal influence skills without authority
Ability to integrate and interpret disparate sources of data using a broad range of analytical data tools. Incorporates use of statistical methodology and predictive modeling techniques. Design, develop and implement value-added business analytics.
Familiar with SAP similar ERP systems will be a plus
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Self-motivated, high attention to details,
Ability to partner and engage with centers of expertise (like Tax, CFR, Audit, Controls, HR, IT)
Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
Master’s Degree in Business or Finance
International business experience
