Principal Accountabilities:

Operators in this position will safely, effectively and efficiently operate box erectors (both manual and mechanical), bag inserters, de-cuffers, box closers (both manual and mechanical), palletizers, weight scales, box printers, label applicators, and filler systems. Performs and documents all required checks and inspections. Collects, marks and records samples. Understands and completes all required production paperwork.

Coordinates with production, maintenance and Food Safety/Quality leadership and operators to ensure product is run correctly and in the proper sequence and equipment is properly maintained and functioning on multiple lines. Develops a deep knowledge of packaging equipment, including minor adjustments, proper lock out/tag out and safety features of all equipment. Performs any other duties as requested by the production supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to read/write English

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping and climbing ladders

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Must be able to operate machinery

  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment

  • Forklift certified

  • Ability to work overtime

  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in production related work
