The Materials Planner is responsible for making sure that the needed raw materials/ingredients, packaging materials, consumables, spare parts and other materials are available in the right quantities at the right time so that production flows smoothly and financial resources are not tied up in the inventory.
This role will be responsible for the materials planning process.The Materials Planner will create and maintain a detailed Materials Requirements Plan (MRP) taking into consideration capacities, customer demand, sales of end products¸ inventory holding costs and other factors.
MATERIALS REQUIREMENTS PLANNING
Responsible for the detailed materials plan taking into consideration historical demand data as well as forward forecasts to determine the most optimum economical stock levels.
Anticipate potential inventory issues like shortages and oversupply. Generates ideas, insights and solutions to prevent or resolve potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
Identify obsolete, slow moving, unused inventory for eventual disposition.
Use effective collaboration skills thru sharing of important business information to all concerned.
SUPPLIER AND PURCHASING MANAGEMENT
Coordinates delivery schedules and other matters with the suppliers as needed. Manages the flow of inventory from the supplier to the plant, warehouses and other locations.
Evaluates supplier on time performance and other factors
Manage the relationship between CSSP and C-Joy.
SYSTEMS / DATA MANAGEMENT, REPORTING & ANALYSIS
Ensures that all materials requirements are identified, communicated and documented thru appropriate Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders in the ordering system.
Analyze data and collaborate with internal customers to determine and apply appropriate ordering, inventory, and replenishment policies. Works with plant operations to ensure adequate inventory is available
Use statistical techniques on inventory data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs in order to support lean manufacturing activities.
Makes sure that all materials are entered in the ERP system and appropriate master data details are available.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Provides other support to production and management as required.
5 years experience in supply chain, materials planning or warehousing.
3 years experience in agri/foods business to business supply chain environment.
Knowledge of materials management theories, processes and practices. Strong compentence in warehouse and purchasing management.
Knowledge and experience of using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems or similar.
Good understanding of supply chain processes and their interdependencies.
Highly effective and professional verbal and written communication skills with team, internal customers and suppliers that includes a strong focus on teamwork and internal/external customer satisfaction.

Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and primary responsibilities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management, colleagues, suppliers, and customers.

Proficient in MS Office. Strong IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills.
