Position Purpose & Summary:

The Cargill Animal Nutrition (CAN) Platform consists of 3 Groups: Cargill Feed & Nutrition (CFN) and Cargill Premix & Nutrition (CFN) and Cargill Aqua Nutrition (CQN). CFN, CFN and CQN operate a global footprint of 36 businesses and close to 265 production locations. These businesses are supported by a total of 7 global leveraged functions (BOSC, RMS, SMT, finance, legal, HR and IT). BOSC has an Operational Excellence vision, based upon an Integrated Supply Chain approach and creates value by providing expertise and support in the area of general operations management; Environment, Health & Safety (EHS); food safety, quality and regulatory compliance (FSQR); supply chain management; Manufacturing Excellence and Capital Execution.

The CFN Europe organization is made up of 2300 employees and 26 production locations. These locations will serve our strategic customer segments in Retail, Rumminants, Pork and Poultry.

The Manufacturing Lead, (ML) will be responsible for 6-10 Plants. The ML is embedded in the CFN South Eastern Europe business and reports to the CFN EU Leader of Operations.The ML should align the business and functional priorities to enable the business strategy.

The ML main responsibilities are the Development of our Plant Managers, Service our customers, keep our employees safe and meet AOE targets.

This position will provide support to our Plant Managers and to our employees to develop culture of people and feed safety, customer and continuous improvement.

This position will develop and deploy Operations strategies and activities to drive results in EHS, FSQR, ME, CE, and Customer Focus. This will enable the Business strategy and result in meeting or exceeding our AOE goals.

The ML also will help drive cross functional collaboration through CFN EU Operations Leadership team.

Principal Accountabilities:

70% Direct accountability for the results of the plant operations, including, but not limited to: personnel, safety, quality, housekeeping, maintenance, customer service and costs in the region.

  • Oversee and make decisions for OEE, Model Mill approvals, accident investigation reporting, plant staffing.

  • Act as key advisor on base/non base capital spending.

  • Ensure government regulation compliance, etc.

  • Partner with the CFN Operations Director in development and deployment of strategies in the plant operations arena.

  • Act as expert advisor to Plant Managers in processes and programs.

  • Input for new business development and acquisitions/right sizing.

  • Leadership on World Class level attainment for the plant and region.

10 % Operation Tag for Commercial/SMT leadership team.

  • Will align KRA’s to meet growth and AOE targets.

20% Talent Management and Development.

  • Provide regular and timely coaching to team members.

  • Motivate for high performance and excellence.

  • Provide an environment that supports personal growth and development for regional operations employees.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or other related field or equivalent commensurate experience

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in successful plant management operations with multiple locations.

  • Ability to solve complex problems through innovation, collaboration, creativity and determination

  • Demonstrated experience in all areas of production operations including quality control, construction, logistics and production.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and time management skills.

  • Experience in working in a matrix organization and multinational company/international environment.

  • Fluent English, Romanian and/or Hungarian

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the agricultural or feed industry, or food industry

  • Knowledge of food safety requirements.
