Technical Representative

Provide technical expertise in a core technology component area for the FIBI AP as well as key customers.

Drives the center of excellence in a given implementation of business defined technology needs.

Serves as the Vietnam’s commercial team resource in broad core technology components.

Core Technology Components:

Core Technologies (e.g. application technology, dairy & beverage, confectionery & bakery, frying & coating, product safety/ regulatory, component separations, blending & mixing, enzyme utilization)

Enabling sciences (e.g. carbohydrate chemistry, lipid chemistry, protein chemistry, sensory, analytical, structure design & material science, process modeling)

Ingredients/Product Lines (e.g. Starches & Sweeteners, Hydrocolloids, Lecithin, Functional Systems, Fats/ Oils, cocoa/chocolate)

Food Applications (e.g. Dairy, Beverage, Convenience Food, Bakery, Confectionary, Meat, Frying Foods)

40% Technical Leadership

  • Requires breadth knowledge of Cargill FIBI AP’s ingredients and solutions. Utilize existing product portfolio into customer solutions based on marketability of product/ process/ application.

  • Draws upon in-breadth knowledge to leverage and to support technology innovation by partnering with businesses and with key customers as well with technology partners to identify emerging trends and needs in one or more core technology component areas.

  • Develops strong business/ customer understanding to ultimately influence/ drive and create business opportunities. Identifies emerging Technology needs for Business/Department and proposes solutions within area of focus and expertise as well as assesses potential value creation and optimization generated from innovation discoveries.

  • Analyzes, interprets and documents project results (prepares report) for more complex projects. Presents results to cross-functional audiences for use in future product development or modification.

25% Project Management/Execution Accountability

  • Independently prioritize projects aligned with Business/Department strategy and commercial target

  • Independently conducts more complex research to translate and to apply product development discoveries into customer solutions based on finished product formulation and processes applications

  • A develop and document plan for more complex projects, including equipment and capabilities required. Identify project success measures. Typically divides project into sub-processes/trials. May delegate to more junior team members for execution.

  • Independently establishes on-going tracking mechanisms for more complex experiments, and provides direction to the work of more junior team members to ensure overall alignment with Business/Departmental standards and metric.

25% Connectivity Accountability

  • Independently engages Cargill customers/ clients to provide alternatives to current products and process and to propose solutions for customer satisfaction and business retention.

  • Design most complex communication and training materials and delivers training solutions to internal clients and external customers.

  • Partner with Sales/ Go-to-market groups to support product/ services promotion. May provide after-sales technical support.

  • Proactively liaise and leverage the global technical capabilities to maximize the execution of regional priorities and also to support global technical projects and initiatives as needed.

10% Operational Accountability

  • Compliance with Cargill safety, food safety, IP, documentation policy, contributes to improve GTM technical team’s working excellence.

  • Manage the function of the pilot plant and analytical equipment, and execute the necessary measurement on food products according to the written procedures with the necessary analytical tools.



  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering or related majors


  • In-breadth knowledge of multiple application categories including recipe, processing equipment or production experience in the related category

  • In-depth knowledge of Starches & Sweeteners, Hydrocolloids, Lecithin, Functional Systems, Fats/ Oils or other related ingredients

  • Above 8 years’ working experience


  • Good problem solving and critical thinking, with good business acumen

  • Show capability in commercial-technical value selling with ability to communicate to clients on the key technical points and have the commercial selling concept

  • Must be able to work independently on multiple projects and drive business results

  • Ability to identify and translate industry/market trends into new opportunities and solutions for existing and new customers/markets

  • Solid understanding of HACCP, Food Safety and QA principles and procedures. Ability to devise preventive and corrective actions in matters of EHS. Ability to perform an internal audit concerning EHS matters to make recommendations for improvement

  • Basic financial management skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills
