Position Purpose & Summary

Looking for a digitally aware and curious Analytics & Trend spotter who can develop a new cabability with the Corp. Affairs organization. The purpose will be to develop the team, its internal/external relationships and technology necessary to confidently use analytic tools, data and methodologies to identify, measure and track elements tied to our strategic priorities. This person will develop and lead a team of Data Scientists and analysts coverning a wide range of data sources including social media, Big Data both internally and externally to spot emerging trends, helping our senior leaders generate insights that are both forward-looking and commercially relevant -ideally to be predictive about what’s happening in the world.

40% Manage portfolio of analytic and trend spotting projects

  • Analyze data to understand user behavior and identify opportunities to enhance digital program performance and new growth opportunities.

  • Design effective and impactful reports and visualizations for both large and small scale distribution

  • Translate business questions and problems into actionable insights via data extraction and analysis

  • Support & drive efforts to establish a network / process / tools & framework to early identify trends affecting Cargill

  • Functions as an advisor to CA regarding metrics, analytics and trends; actively involved in daily operations

25% Liaise with other Corp.

  • Affairs practice area leads to Identify, prioritize and manage Measurement and Analytics (Ask the right questions; hold accountable; communicate trends, Generate dashboard summaries, etc.) - Measuring against our strategic priorities

  • Determine relevant metrics and create appropriate reporting to track and analyze the performance of various programs under CA.

  • Drives digital analysis agenda. Partners with other Corporate Affairs teams performing insights work.

20% Represent Corp.

  • Affairs and other stakeholders to coordinate digitalization activities occurring throughout the organization (HR, IT, Social Media & external data sources)

  • Collaborate with other business units to ensure data integrity and quality.

  • Serve as an expert and lead in digital analytics and work with other business units and functions to develop relevant metrics, segments and reporting.

  • Liaison with Cargill Strategy & Development team

10% Manage team of analysts and trend spotting resources

  • Accomplishes results through sr. level professional direct reports

  • Provides guidance and direction based on CA goals and priorities

5% Determine and manage portfolio of analytic tools

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in data sciences or related field

  • 7 or more years leading digital analytics projects or related activities

  • Experience with understanding/interpreting data of emerging channels/platforms like social media, video, and content partnerships

  • Experience with data analytics tools and strategies to determine user behaviors & trends

  • Travel up to 10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or higher in data sciences or related field

  • Previous experience working in the Food/Ag industry

  • Successful track record of helping to build and present concepts/programs to senior leaders and effectively executing programs

  • Solid project management skills
