Description

This position is located in Abilene, Texas . Relocation assistance is not provided.

Also, it is responsible for maintaining optimum asset health for all plant equipment, systems, and structures by performing inspections, repairs and modifications to equipment and structures of feed facility.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Perform maintenance work in area of expertise.

  • Perform routine plant maintenance.

  • Perform preventative maintenance.

  • Maintain maintenance records and assist in plant production as needed.

  • Safety - responsible for safety of themselves and teammates.

  • Proficient in following areas as defined by the Maintenance Exam: Mechanical Aptitude, Mechanical Repair, Welding, Electrical.

  • Experience with programmable logic controllers as well as electrical work.

  • Boiler maintenance experience.

  • Air compressor experience.

  • Good math skills and ability to interpret plant drawings.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas.

  • Ability to work overtime.

  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.

Preferred:

  • Able to read/write English.

  • High School diploma or Equivalent.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Able to operate machinery.

  • Able to operate heavy equipment.

  • Forklift certified.

  • Prior experience in production related work.
