Position Purpose and Summary:

This role is responsible for managing all Finance shared service operations for APAC delivered out of Bangalore and Nanjing, including ongoing operations of the catalog of work encompassed in shared services, continuous improvement of processes and efficiency, and absorbing new work from Enterprises and Business Groups into operations in order to deliver high quality/low cost services. This position will be integral part of building the CBS Finance teams for the region across the 2 centers, supporting and developing staff. This role will require influence and thought leadership, a commitment to the change effort of shared service within Cargill. This role will be highly collaborative with others across the globe in Finance, Groups served, and other functions to ensure key learning and best practices.

This role will report into the Global CBS Finance Lead and will be part of the CBS Finance leadership team. The role would also be part of the CBS Site Leadership team.

This role would replace the current CBS Finance Center Lead position in Bangalore and Nanjing. The role would manage a team size of around 600 FTEs across the following activities:

  • Record to Report: Manage the close process, corporate and management reporting and statutory discipline for over 80 RUs, 4 Enterprises, 20 Business Groups. These activities are delivered out of Nanjing and Bangalore today. These comprise of over 200 FTEs

  • Credit To Cash: Manage the Accounts Receivable for over 2000 customers across all the Enterprises, Business Groups, $10Bn cash management from a collection, disputes, credit and cash application point of view. These activities are delivered out of Bangalore and Nanjing today. These comprise of around 120 FTEs

  • Invoice to Pay: Manage the Accounts Payable to 3000 suppliers within the direct, in-direct and logistics area. Managing over $2bn of payable spend to the suppliers. These activities are delivered out of Bangalore and Nanjing today. These comprise of over 280 FTEs.

Principal Accountabilities:

Lead the building of world class Finance operations in the appointed shared service region 40%

  • Manage stakeholders in APAC and be the single point of escalation for all APAC operational issues

  • Be part of the APAC Accounting and Finance LT to represent CBS Finance and also be the key partner towards the one A&F creation within the region

  • Provide leadership and technical direction for the Finance staff in the shared service locations and develops a vision and strategy for operational excellence.

  • Ensure all services defined in the service catalog are delivered at cost and quality levels meeting Service Level Agreements.

  • Oversee the migration receiving efforts from Groups and legacy service centers to Shared Service.

Build and retain high performing team 25%

  • Hire and retain site process managers ensuring we have competencies within team to deliver strong service levels to Groups in catalog activities.

  • Works with the CBS center management team to lead a culture of continuous improvement, engagement, high performance, people development, cost management.

  • Build an engaged team and inclusive environment.

  • Accountable for performance management, talent development, succession planning and engagement.

  • Provides coaching and train employees on Cargill´s Leadership Model (CLM) behaviors and safety.

Drive Process improvement 25%

  • Set site targets for annual improvement, drive and support efforts aimed at achieving metrics.

  • Measure and monitor performance in consistent process.

  • Builds a culture of continuous improvement and operations excellence.

  • Identifies areas of improvement and drives the implementation of key initiatives to enhance organizational performance and value realization.

  • Monitors and communicates CBS Finance operational results in a timely and effective manner.

Internal Control & Compliance 10%

  • Ensures an internal control environment within CBS Finance, including risk mitigation, and the total compliance of all of its operations and services with internal and external regulations.

  • Works closely with CBS and Finance to ensure total compliance in all activities and compliance with laws, regulations, and corporate policies and minimums, such as, but not limited to, reconciliations, balance sheet consolidation process, financial reporting, value preservation, TGRC, guiding principles, etc


Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related discipline.

  • 15 – 20 Years of experience with at least 12 years leading in a shared service environment

  • Fluent in English with ability to easily communicate with stakeholders

  • Quality certification like Lean Six Sigma is preferred

  • Must be able to work hours which support and align with APAC based stakeholders

  • Must be able to travel (25%) to visit stakeholders, global meetings and other center visits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Managed stakeholders in the NA region with extensive experience working in a diversified industry environment

  • Having experience of working in an FMCG, core industry

  • Managed over 600 people across the full spectrum of Finance and Accounting with a stronger bent towards RTR
