In the delivery of its core processes RTR seeks to ensure: the quality of the data & data model for key aspects of Finance; the design, implementation and measurement of a number of those core processes; the design and delivery of a fit for purposes control framework, including a significant number of key controls; and to develop and provide business insights through advanced data and process analytics.   • The core purpose of RTR is to drive a top quartile tax, financial accounting, reporting and analysis agenda that delivers the relevant external and internal reporting for Cargill. The RTR team will drive a process agenda (for efficiency) and a connectivity agenda (for effectiveness). The skills and capabilities of the team cover the full range required for a Finance professional. As roles migrate into shared service centers, the RTR team will increasingly be required to drive a change agenda for Cargill Finance which is aimed at improving functional effectiveness through continuous improvement.

  • The RTR Process Architect roles are an integral part of the Global Process Owner (GPO) organization, responsible for leading the improvement agenda for the RTR process, as well as governing the associated process documentation and policies. Each RTR Process Architect is assigned responsibility (and design authority) for a group of Level 3 RTR processes.

  • This is a Global role and will have influence across the entire RTR organization and its stakeholders. The position plays an active role within the finance community. The Process Architect is an effective stakeholder manager on all levels of the finance organization.

  • This position should play a leading role in change management, be highly focused on process improvement and will be instrumental in the success of the GPO team.

Principal Accountabilities

Project Management for Key RTR Initiatives 50%

  • Responsible for the Project Management, and successful delivery of, improvement initiatives within their assigned areas of the RTR process.

  • Responsible for leading and coordinating project team members from multiple groups (GPO, CBS, PMO, CI, IT) and locations.

  • Ensures suitable project planning, communication and governance is in place.

  • Ensures timely corrective actions and escalations are made as and where required.

  • Responsible for regular project status reporting to project sponsors and RTR steering committee.

  • Responsible for quantifying and managing delivery of project benefits.

Continuous Improvement, Process Standardization and Optimization 20%

  • Identifies, prioritises and implements key opportunities for improvement (across process, data, technology and people) within the RTR area.

  • Actively benchmarks process and solutions against external best practice to ‘bring the outside in’

  • Partners with CBS CI teams to ensure alignment of centre led improvements with the global RTR agenda.

  • Responsible for building business cases for any significant initiatives (those requiring additional investment) to the RTR steering committee for approval.

  • Seeks opportunities to maximize benefits of newly deployed technologies within the Finance IT portfolio.

  • Responsible for driving the standardization of RTR processes, reducing waste and variation.

Business Partnering, Stakeholder Management, Change Management 20%

  • Management of key internal stakeholders (e.g. CBS Finance Leaders, Regional Controllers, A&F Leads as well as Finance IT.

  • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams (CBS and business locations) to understand current process performance; and to drive a joint agenda for improvement in line with the key RTR process metrics.

  • Partner with Global IT to ensure successful delivery of new systems as well as enhancements to current technology.

  • Work with A&F, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects to develop a business process architecture based on business scenarios, technology capabilities and industry leading practice.

  • Ensures key stakeholders are well engaged and informed of RTR improvement initiatives.

  • Leads change management for improvements, effectively engaging those impacted by change, getting buy in and support, preparing teams for transition, as well as assessing effectiveness of solutions post implementation.

RTR Process Documentation Governance 10%

  • Responsible for ensuring design effectiveness and efficiency. This role will exercise authority over any changes to current and future process and architectural designs.

  • Ensure process designs take into consideration the upstream and downstream impacts to partners, stakeholders and other major process areas.

  • Ensure adherence to legal and company standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 10 Years process and / or accounting operations experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar qualification in Accounting required.

  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance process architecture role

  • Strong ability to influence others, building credibility with peers and key stakeholders

  • Experience with finance process and process improvement methodology, modeling and tools

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong verbal, writing and presentation skills

  • Experience working with matrixed teams without direct supervisory responsibility

  • Experience with SAP & JDE applications essential

  • Comfortable in a fast paced and changing environment

  • Articulate and effective communication skills with an appreciation for cultural dynamics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience the Record to Report Process

  • Demonstrable background in SAP Modules particularly FICO

  • Previous project management experience

  • Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies
