Position Purpose:

Position is responsible for the management of the RTR – Record to Report teams within Financial Accounting of Thailand. The RTR processes covers Data Management, General Ledger Accounting, Close Processes, Assets Accounting, Statutory Reporting and Cost Accounting of large and complex manufacturing environment for all BUs of both CSL and CMT.

The responsibilities include efficiently and effectively lead delivery of the RTR function for the BUs with the scope, KPIs, SLAs, lead and motivate the teams, timely submissions of the reports, ensure continuous improvement of processes, and absorbing new work from BUs into operations in order to deliver high quality/low cost services to BUs. This position will be integral part of building the site’s Finance operations team, supporting and developing staff. This role will require an influence, a commitment to the change effort and drive effectiveness though shared service. This role will be highly collaborative with others across the globe in Finance and other functions to ensure key learning and best practices.

Additionally, together with FA Tower lead, leads and coordinates activities of team members engaged in these processes. Specific areas of responsibility include: Leads and provides strategic planning and direction utilizing the Finance business plans, oversees decision-making, problem solving and employee relations issues, report analysis, career development, performance management, and communication. Acts as a liaison between TH Financial Accounting team, BUs/Functions and other ad hoc groups. Additional responsibilities include Project Management or any improvement projects.


Principal Accountabilities:

Financial Operations ( 50% ):

  • Leads the RTR team to complete financial accounting activities which include Financial Reporting, P&L, SG&A expenses, allocations, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, financial close, full balance sheet review, CRP preparation and review, tax accounting and filing, US GAAP and local GAAP compliance etc.

  • Together with FA &R lead, work closely with global process owners and ensure all financial accounting activities of RTR process are executed effectively and efficiently with appropriate controls and end to end view

  • This tower will be the very key customer for CBS Finance, and will work in close partnership with Tax, Treasury, CFR, Decision Support, Financial Risk Management, internal and external auditors.

  • Work closely with CBS Finance and global process owners to build capabilities for executing financial accounting processes at appropriate place which allows Cargill leveraging its size and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of finance organization.

  • Holds self and team accountable for delivering results, and driving the continuous improvement of finance activities; collaborating across business, functions, and enterprises.

  • Aligns with internal control systems that provide effective and efficient operations; reliable financial reporting; and compliance with laws, regulations and corporate policies.

  • This role will be responsible for completing the statutory/external audits and will be primarily contact point for external auditors in guidance of Financial Accounting & Reporting lead-Thailand.

  • This role will be responsible for ensuring the compliances with all financial regulatory compliances both locally and required for US GAAP.

  • Champion efforts to ensure controls and compliance measures are in place for all reported financial information.

  • Manages engagements with internal and external auditors, and ensures issues are resolved. Partners with other accounting and finance leads to ensure alignment of processes and strategies.

  • Work with other functions and business managers to ensure financial regulatory compliance.

Identifies potential process risks, establish control plans and monitor the impact ( 15% )

Essential Functions/Requirements:

  • Knowledge and familiarity with work performed in shared services as defined by the service catalog or experience with large team management.

  • Critical ability to deal with large level of ambiguity and large scale change.

Education, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or higher.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with relevant experience is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in finance operation work with deep expertise in Record to Report (RtR) covered GL, Fixed asset and Costing function and other related Accounting and Finance processes.

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous management experience

  • Experience in performing and working with shared service operations

  • Proven ability to drive discipline and process orientation in a large complex organization

  • Self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving skills and initiative to achieve desired outcomes.
