This position will play a vital role in the success of the maintenance department and Cargill Protein. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will develop a deep understanding of maintenance responsibilities and assess and initiate opportunities for improvement. You will create and promote a team-building environment that promotes stakeholder enthusiasm and innovation. Also, you will implement and recognize continuous improvement through ensuring stakeholder involvement in problem solving and decision-making. Additionally, you are responsible for executing safety initiatives and communicating safety awareness. This position will assure all GMP's, and SOP's are executed as planned. This position will communicate business results and achievement of departmental goals and milestones. Lastly, you will promote stakeholder focus through training and development and be a lightning rod for change, good ideas, and getting the job done.
40% - Development and supervision of maintenance stakeholders.
20% - Accountable for maintenance, equipment repair, and sanitation requirements. Troubleshoot causes of plant equipment problems and oversees coordination of proactive and reactive activities on a daily basis. Develops and maintains plant preventative maintenance programs. Coordinates repairs and supplies/parts purchasing.
10% - Maintain adherence to all Corporate Environmental Policies and Procedures to keep the facility in compliance with all Federal and State laws. Manage wastewater treatment system operation to ensure permit compliance. Ensure Process Safety Management program is maintained.
10% - Provide leadership in the areas of customer focus, continuous improvement, food safety, and personal safety as they relate to maintenance activities. Support a ZERO injury culture and drive continuous improvement to safety and safety programs. Ensure contractors/employees comply with all relevant Governmental and Cargill Safety Requirements.
10% - Develop and maintain energy efficient systems with demonstrated continuous energy use improvements.
10% Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
BS or BA in Processing, Engineering or Food Science or equivalent 2 years experience OR appropriate associate technical degree with 2 years of experience.
2 years of experience in food operation/processing and/or manufacturing environments.
Working knowledge of processing plant/equipment.
Specialized coursework/background – boiler, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing.
Maintenance experience in a food processing environment.
Understanding of refrigeration and utility management.
Computer literacy and eagerness to learn SAP/Maximo systems..
Positive attitude and problem solving mentalit.y
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to develop and manage good working relationships with internal departments (Production, QA, Warehouse), contractors, suppliers, and inspectors.
