This full time position is located in Buffalo, IA. Relocation assistance is not provided.
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for completing maintenance activities as directed on a day-to-day basis. This includes preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance assignments. They will provide feedback on what repairs were made to the equipment on the work order, and will offer suggestions on how to improve the plans associated to the work effort.
Shift: Day Shift
Salary range: $19.50 - $31.00 per hour.
Maintain, repair, and perform maintenance on processing and packing equipment such as baggers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, screw conveyors, and bucket elevators.
Strong knowledge of computer software used to check work orders/schedule, place notifications and review parts inventory.
Safely operate standard tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
Complete troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical related issues without direct supervision.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques.
Must pass mechanical aptitude test.

Must be able to read/write English.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.
At least 2 years of experience in production related work.
Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.
Ability to work in elevated areas.
Must be able to operate machinery.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Able to operate heavy equipment.
Able to perform maintenance trades including electrical, machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, mechanical maintenance, and hydraulic and pneumatic.
Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
