Responsible for applying general understanding of Environment, Health and Safety practices and standards for the Calgary, Alberta, Case Ready facility. Provides location leadership and direction in the following areas of focus: development and implementation of EHS strategy, maintenance and continuous improvement of EHS results, shaping of the internal EHS culture.
30% Facilitates the EHS process for the Calgary, Alberta facility as defined by the EHS Manager
30% Responsible for facility’s Ergonomic program including development of PDDs, performing data analysis to identify trends in Ergonomic risk and recommending preventive measures, and maintaining the Ergonomic scorecard.
20% Responsible for regulatory compliance programs including Federal, Provincial, Local and Cargill Health and Safety Requirements as well as Environmental as applicable. This includes program development, training activities, record keeping, and assisting in Incident investigation when necessary.
10% Conduct routine LIFEsavers field checks, Behavior Based Observations, and Near-Miss observations; conduct facility inspecitons to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions, maintain Enablon reporting.
10% Collaborate with all management, Health Services staff, and any other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Ergonomics or related field
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
3 year''s experience in EHS related field
Federal and Provincial Regulatory knowledge
Organizational and computer/data management skills
Strong knowledge of basic computer skills with experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
Demonstrated communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
Possess team building skills and ability to influence others
Capable of building collaborative working relationships
Possess ability to delegate and hold self and others accountable
Ability to deal with conflict
Possess problem solving skills
Effective presentation and training skills
Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis experience
Ability to work in cold environments
Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
Experience dealing with government agencies
Experience or background in Ergonomics
