Description

Responsible for applying Environment, Health and Safety practices and standards. Provides knowledge of issues, solutions and problems through the following areas of focus: development and implementation of EHS strategy, maintenance and continuous improvement of EHS results, shaping of the internal EHS culture and management of the external EHS brand.

  • The Plant EHS Coordinator is responsible for leading and implementing an Environmental Occupational Health and Safety Program within a location

  • Have detailed understanding of the Cargill Environment, Occupational Health and Safety Standards to assure operations meet organizational performance expectations.

  • Monitor local regulations and determine applicability to Cargill operations.

20% DEVELOP EHS STRATEGY

  • Under direction of senior team members, assesses Environment, Health and Safety risks and opportunities using general knowledge of EHS practices and standards (including current and short-term future regulatory requirements) and potential impacts on stakeholder (customer, community, interest groups, employees) priorities or location strategy.

  • Support efforts to ensure deep understanding and achieve support of the approved EHS strategy or relevant parts of the approved EHS strategy, from internal and some external partners and stakeholders.

  • Internally, this includes contributing to collaboration with a variety of other functions.

  • Externally, this may include contributing efforts to obtain approvals or permits with regulating bodies and work with external consultants.

  • Develop programs to implement regulatory requirements and Cargill EHS standards for the plant.

40% IMPLEMENT EHS STRATEGY

  • Leads or assists in the development of programs and processes involving little interpretation and variation to execute EHS strategy in a manner appropriate to the technology, scope and maturity of the team/area.

  • Frequently benchmarks internally and occationally benchmark externally to identify best practices of others, consistent with and in support of the EHS strategy, that can be applied effectively.

  • With some supervision, identifies and implements changes to support continuous improvement of Environment, Health and Safety programs and processes.

  • Keep fully up to date with legislative, regulatory, and Cargill EHS standards and policies

  • Prepare and submit EHS regulatory documentation in accordance with required timelines

  • Ensure that EHS performance expectations are communicated effectively to plant leadership, management, and operations personnel

  • Develop and implement EHS training programs to maintain an appropriate level of EHS knowledge and skills in the plant.

  • Develop and implement an internal measurement system

  • Develop and implement an EHS Management of Change System

  • Develop and implement an Incident Response Plan

  • Assist in identifying and assigning EHS roles and responsibilities to meet regulatory requirements and Cargill EHS standards

  • Perform assessments and corrective action plan to meet regulatory requirements and CEHS standards

  • To analyze the work to indicate possible dangers, including to set and present preventive measures and procedures for working safely to the employer.

  • To assess the risks in the area of occupational safety.

  • To analyze work plans and projects, and as well as recommendations of every working unit; and to give advice on safety measures to the employer.

  • To inspect and assess the operation of the workplace to comply with the work plan and project, or occupational safety measures.

  • To give advice, teach and train the employees to work safely and without any risk of dangers.

  • To examine and appraise the working conditions, or to work jointly with a person or an organization registered with the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare for certification, or to examine evidences, documents, and report of the inspection of working conditions in the workplace.

  • To give recommendations to the employer on the appropriate management of occupational safety in the workplace, and develop it for ongoing efficiency.

  • To analyze and investigate the causes of accidents, illness or annoyance resulting from working of the employees, and make a report of the investigation, together with suggesting resolution, promptly to the employer.

  • To compile statistical data, analyze, make a report and to give recommendations on accident, illness or annoyance caused by working of the employees.

  • To conduct other occupational safety activities as assigned by the employer such as to be EHS document control.

20% DEVELOP EHS STRATEGY

  • Provides operational leaderships to EHS audit, inspection and risk assessment processes.

  • With some supervision, adopts EHS auditing and risk assessment standards and expands as appropriate.

  • Using general knowledge of EHS practices and standards, reviews and analyzes audit resukts requiring little interpretation to confirm that the corporate, business and government EHS standards are met.

  • With some supervision, analyzes processes and data to identify trends and isolate root causes. Supports process to ensure that appropriate follow-up actions are being implemented.

  • Through existing systems, enters varied measures and data according to corporate and BU EHS standards.

  • Monitors change in the external environment, including regulations, science and stakeholder positioning. Assesses applicability and impact within immediate scope of responsibility. Provides input on tactics to address/support change.

  • Participate in Cargill’s EHS Audit Program as an auditor and/or auditee in the plant

  • Management of Change: Managing factory and office construction, equipment installation, and relocation projects

  • Ensures all MOC for all project to meet EHS standards.

  • Ensures that sites, building, and equipment comply with EHS and FSQR standards

  • Exploits data and information to identify and measure potential improvements

  • Conducts Continuous Improvement Reviews (CIR’s) to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement

  • Facilitates sharing of ideas, knowledge, and best practices to improve processes and solve problems

  • Works to standardize best practices

10% SHAPE INTERNAL EHS CULTURE

  • Builds effective working relationships with employees in order to obtain/sustain a strong Environment, Health and Safety culture.

  • Supports leaders to implement portions of internal communications strategy for key audiences that builds and maintains awareness of Environment, Health and Safety values, strategy and performance; shares best practices and key learnings; develop talent; and recognizes high performance.

  • Supports leaders to promote proactive workplace Environment, Health and Safety practices. Using general knowledge of EHS practices and standards, provides technical, regulatory and behavioral support required to build a strong EHS culture.

  • Designs and delivers training solutions related to Environment, Health and Safety issues, practices and risks. Requires general knowledge of EHS practices and standards.

  • With direction from senior team members, develops and implements recognition programs to acknowledge positive behavior and celebrate successes on topics of Environment, Health and Safety.

10% MANAGE EHS BRAND

  • May participate in relevant external EHS professional business and industry organizations.

  • Guides employees on specific customer and community concerns related to routine Environment, Health and Safety topics an equips them with the information and tools they need to accurately represent Cargill on EHS topics.

  • Frequently consults with internal sales and commercial teams and occasionally consults with external organizations to stay informed of external EHS matters facing community and customers. Provides operational leadership to meet and exceed the expectations, values and priorities of community, customers, consumers and NGO’s.

  • Advocates and drives product, material, process, and package standardization and simplification

  • Coordinates engineering bundle development activities across all functions

  • Ensures products are commercialized in accordance with Quality, EHS standards

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple business applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc;

  • Ability to work with confidential information

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team to support and back-up fellow Customer Service Administrators

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree holder in Technology, Environment Engineer or similar.

  • Possess certificates of ISO22000, EHS,…will be advantages.

  • 5 years in management in high mass volume manufacturing companies, 3 years at the same position is a must.

  • Demonstrates expert knowledge in Manufacturing, Environment, Health and Safety

  • People management.

  • Excellent leadership and team work, strong communication skills and able to communicate with all levels in the plant.

  • Writing and Reading English at intermediate level.
