Description

This position is responsible for coordination of tactical sourcing activities typically for multiple businesses with some complex sourcing requirements, providing procurement support & planning, managing supplier events and relationships and lastly implementing the sourcing strategies.

Principal Accountabilities

50% Manage/execute tactical sourcing processes

  • Responsible for managing tactical sourcing process to select suppliers for procurement of non-contracted materials/goods, services and/or supplies which are considered local spend (as defined thru category alignment) including:

  • Gathering and performing complex analysis of internal spend data

  • Gathering specifications/requirements from internal stakeholders

  • Supports the creation of and validates requirements / statement of works / specifications

  • Development of supplier evaluation criteria

  • Researching local supplier options

  • Develop/manage RFP templates per sub category

  • Conduct tactical sourcing RFPs in line with Cargill CSSP eSourcing Policy

  • Collecting supplier bids and perform analysis of results (e.g. determining best value supplier from multiple supplier quotes)

  • Negotiating contract terms and conditions

  • Award the business

  • Maintain supplier lists / category cards

  • Execute on contract as per our legal standards – e.g. signing of contract adhering to correct Power of Attorney, alignment and agreement with CSSP legal on contract if deviations occur from standard template

  • Implement and manage new (tactical) supply arrangements and report on value delivery

  • Maintain & archive as per RIM policy agreement in Ariba to ensure proper supply & demand planning

  • Ensure contract owned are up to date to enable supply and demand as per the agreed terms & conditions

  • With approval, work with the category to buy materials/goods, services and/or supplies in excess of established boundaries & limits.

  • Lead and/or act as subject matter expert on multi-functional, local or regional project teams.

  • Works with buyers across businesses to coordinate complex tactical sourcing activities (e.g. major capital projects or other large spend areas) to leverage resources and increase value capture.

  • Deliver budgeted value for tactical sourcing

  • Teams up with peers in other sub-regions or regions to ensure a common way of working and the exchange of different experiences

10% Provide procurement support & planning

  • Alignment in category on (longer term) supply needs of the business:

  • gather and interpret complex information of business needs

  • conducts complex research and analysis (e.g. internal/external data from traditional and non-traditional/non-structured data sources)

  • apply in depth understanding of plant operations to provide specific forecasting of longer term supply needs

  • Obtain an in depth understanding of operations and business (critical) customer requirements (e.g. product development plans, marketing projections for new products, planned product line expansions, etc.)

  • Obtain an in-depth understanding of the business sourcing environment (e.g. suppliers, cost drivers, international market dynamics, geopolitical risk, import/export laws, etc).

  • Support local internal and external audits on procurement process topics

40% Implement sourcing strategies and manage suppliers & agreements

  • Support category organization in the development of category strategies

  • Assist in obtaining forecasts, business critical customer requirements, local supply market insights, supplier capabilities insights and responsible to manage local business stakeholders

  • Work with business stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies for unique category areas (e.g. business or location-specific sourcing priority or opportunity areas), and identify opportunities for the category organization to support business requirements and sourcing support needs

  • Work directly with the category organization to inform future regional/global strategies; act as subject matter expert on category driven projects.

  • Support the category organization in the execution of category strategies / strategic sourcing process

  • Assist in the development of supplier evaluation criteria

  • Research local supplier options

  • Support the RFP process

  • Support the contract negotiation

  • Implement category strategies

  • Alignment and implementation of strategic sourcing strategies across the sourcing lifecycle

  • Execute and operationalize new supply arrangements

  • Implementation of contract at location(s)

  • Onboarding of select suppliers at location(s)

  • Manage supplier relationship & performance

  • Responsible for relationship management for significant suppliers across region/business; independently develops and leverages existing supplier partnerships.

  • Consults buyers across business on complex aspects of tactical sourcing activities.

  • Contacts supplier and takes actions to research complex and significant variances with supplier contract terms and conditions (systemic quality or service problems, etc.).

  • Works with applicable plant/location staff to research and resolve complex supplier issues; works directly with the category organization as appropriate to find resolution.

  • Works with plant/location to develop capabilities of suppliers to enhance business continuity, drive value, innovation & sustainability

  • Establish and maintain on-going tracking mechanisms for complex performance metrics, reporting on value captured across different businesses.

  • Teams up with peers in other sub-regions or regions to ensure a common way of working and the exchange of different experiences

  • Accountability for budgeted value delivery within his area of influence

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant business experience; 3 years implementing procurement, trading or strategic sourcing related duties.

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to engage and communicate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Critical thinker with strategic perspective and results oriented mindset

  • Persuasive change agent capable of challenging conventional wisdom

  • Ability to work effectively and implement solutions in a team environment

  • Understanding of the operations, needs and requirements of key business and functions Experience with key suppliers and ability to develop beneficial relationships

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • English fluent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Experience

  • ERP (Enterprise Resource Program) knowledge, specifically in SAP SRM (Supplier Relationship Management Module), ECC (Enterprise Control Component) and MRP (Materials Resource Planning)

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Work experience in multi-countries environment
