Principal Accountabilities for position:

The Maintenance Technician performs routine preventive maintenance and emergency repair of production machinery and other equipment. Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of all electrical and mechanical equipment.

Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery such as hammer mills, impact mills, elevator legs, pneumatic conveying equipment, packaging and palletizing equipment, boilers, pumps, tanks, agitators and compressors according to established preventative maintenance program.

  • Troubleshoot production equipment issues both electrical and mechanical.

  • Be able to read both electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Troubles shoot and repairs electrical industrial control circuits, including 480V.

  • Trouble shoot and repair variable frequency drives, starters, relays and fuses.

  • Perform emergency repairs as requested and where qualified to do so.

  • Work efficiently with outside contractors on jobs that require them.

  • Install, replace or repairs electrical, mechanical equipment throughout our manufacturing facilities.

  • Daily computer use consisting of Outlook, preventative maintenance software, Excel and Word.

  • Cleans maintenance area as needed to ensure a neat and orderly work environment.

  • Support R&D and Headquarter facilities.

  • Support Diamond V’s commitment to product quality, product safety and regulatory compliance by following written and routine standard operating procedures. This includes observing food hygiene, food safety and cGMP practices when conducting assigned job duties.

  • Building maintenance that consists of replacing light bulbs and ballast, HVAC, plumbing, snow removal, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Continuous, effective operation of equipment serviced; ability to troubleshoot and identify problems; reliability and regularity of attendance; safe and efficient performance of the job; ability to work overtime as necessary, due to the nature of the position and 24 hour operation; effectiveness of communications and working relationships with others at the company.

  • High School diploma or Equivalent

  • Must be able to read/write English

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds

  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas

  • Must be able to operate machinery

  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment

  • Forklift certified

  • Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts


  • Prior experience in production related work (5 years preferred)

  • Able to perform maintenance trades including electrica, machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, gearbox and bearing, maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic

  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
