Electromechanic - Full time - Chambly

The main tasks are preventive maintenance, support of production lines, installation of equipment, development and installation of mechanical, electrical and automated systems according to established Cargill standards. Carry out analyzes and tests on the equipment in order to maintain their performance economically and safely.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Is responsible for the dismantling, assembly and routine work of all equipment related to sanitation.

  • Responds to production calls. In addition, the electromechanic is responsible for the proper functioning of the equipment. He must ensure that the production starts in the morning.

  • Performs preventive maintenance of production equipment.

  • Is responsible for the dismantling, assembly and routine work of all equipment related to sanitation.

  • Performs some welding, fabrication and modifications.

  • Performs some equipment improvement and replacement projects.

  • Repairs the equipment in the workshop, ensures the cleanliness of the workshop, fulfills its work orders, requisitions and other.



  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.

  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • D.E.P. In electromechanical.

  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.

  • Be able to work as part of a team.

  • Excelent communication skills.

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves,and pounding with hammer.

  • Ability to lift from 25 to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas.

  • Must be able to operate machinery.

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to work overtime.

  • Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.


  • Knowledge of food industry standards (HACCP)

  • Welding at T.I.G.

  • Be familiar with labeling equipment (Bizerba).

  • Be familiar with packaging equipment (Omori, Ulma).

  • One year experience in a similar position and in an industrial environment.

  • Able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme cold.

  • Forklift certified.

  • Able to read/write English.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Able to perform maintenance trades including: rigging systems, gearbox and bearing, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic.
