Position Overview:

Cargill Case Ready, part of the Cargill Animal Protein platform, is a customer-focused company that works directly with strategic customers to produce a packaged consumer product. Cargill, Chambly currently has a vacancy for a Superintendent of Operations. The Superintendent will be responsible for all responsibilities of the Beef, Pork, Chicken and Marinated Sector. This includes security, production, commitment, environment, cost management, customers and quality.

Principal Accountabilities:

30% - Development and supervision of direct and indirect reports, regarding health and safety, food safety, customer services, work environment and productivity.

20% - Develop strategies for departmental operations under his / her responsibility to include technical process optimization.

20% - Establish, implement and maintain departmental capital and operating budgets.

25% - Supervise and ensure that productions are completed within the prescribed time, Interact with customers during plant visits and audits and as required.

5% - Perform various tasks according to the assignment.



  • At least 5 years of experience in management and supervision

  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations, OSHA and the environment

  • Demonstrated skills in team building, leadership and conflict resolution

  • Knowledge of management tools including mastery of Office software etc…

  • Ability to effectively communicate (written, verbal, presentation skills) at multiple levels

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada


  • Completed College Diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years working in operation, logistics, or related field.

  • Experience using SAP, Kronos

  • Bilingual (French and English)
