This role is in an exciting and challenging environment. This is a new position, and has been created to develop and embed a demand-led approach to our business planning processes. You will be one of three Regional Demand Planners, responsible for the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Ireland in the CPN Europe network. You will report to the CPN Europe Planning Lead who will coach and support your personal development and with whom you revisit your objectives on a regular basis.

In this role you will work closely with key stakeholders upstream (Commercial, Marketing &Technical teams, Finance) and downstream (Supply Planning, Production, Customer Services). Your role will be primarily focus on 2 core tasks: Firstly, to create and maintain a comprehensive and clean database for statistical demand forecasts at SKU or product group level. Secondly, you will introduce and develop the tools and methodology and crucially develop the relationships with the key stakeholders upstream to produce accurate long-term demand forecasts. These items combined, will provide class-leading service to our customers at optimum cost.

The successful establishment of this role, and the processes and relationships you create, will provide the basis for IBP (Integrated Business Planning) to be rolled out under the CAN global blueprint.

  3. Business Operations and Supply Chain (BOSC) cost to serve

Principal Accountabilities

30% Create and maintain comprehensive and clean database for statistical forecast and add available commercial / market events

30% Establish methodology, tools, and culture of demand forecasting discipline by forging effective and productive working relationships with key internal stakeholders (Commercial, Technical, Marketing, Finance, Supply Planning, Operations, Customer Services)

20% Review actual vs forecast continuously to improve accuracy

15% Develop, champion and embed the S&OP and ultimately IBP processes in co-operation with other key stakeholders (Commercial, Technical, Finance, Supply Planning, Operations)

5% Any other duties as assigned


  • Position is office based – occasional requirement to go into production / warehouse areas (need PPE)

  • Some travel (within Europe) is required (appr. 5-10%)

  • Full-time position – as our plants run 24/7, you may be contacted during out of office hours, be on-call in weekends, or occasional early starts / late finishes may be required as necessary

  • Bachelor degree - as a minimum a good general standard of education; high standard of numeracy, literacy and verbal communication essential.

  • A master degree specifically in Supply Chain Management/Engineering is a plus

  • 3-5 years (demand) planning experience is essential, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • Good working knowledge of an S&OP / IBP process in a relevant environment

  • Good working knowledge of ERP system (preferably SAP)

  • Proven experience in initiating effective collaboration and relationship-building with key internal stakeholders

  • Fluent in English is essential, and Dutch is preferred.

  • Analytical skills

  • Must have a high drive and energy level, can-do attitude, and high attention to detail.

  • Must be diligent, committed, and prepared to manage tasks through to completion.

  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written), need to communicate with people on different levels in the organization (especially managing upwards).

  • Ownership: must have strong sense of accountability for own actions, able to withstand challenge and scrutiny from peers and superiors.

  • Able to maintain and promote a strong professional image to internal and external stakeholders alike.

  • Must have well developed skills in planning (demand planning, supply planning or production planning)

  • Ability to demonstrate change management and process improvement delivery
