This role is in an exciting and challenging environment. This is a new position, and has been created to develop and embed a systematic approach to our business planning processes. You will be one of three Regional Supply Planning Leads, responsible for the Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Ireland in the CPN Europe network. You will report to the CPN Europe Planning Lead who will coach and support your personal development and with whom you revisit your objectives on a regular basis.

In this role you will work closely with key stakeholders upstream (Commercial, Marketing &Technical teams, Finance, Demand Planning, Customer Services) and downstream (Production, Sourcing, Logistics). Your role will be to lead the supply planning activity (production capacity, raw materials and traded goods) for Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Ireland in CPN Europe. You will need to develop the tools and methodology with your colleagues and teams, and crucially develop the relationships with the key stakeholders (upstream and downstream) to deliver customer service, inventory levels and overall cost to serve in line with business targets.

You will have an embedded team at local plant level to manage the daily activity. You will be directly responsible for the performance and output of these teams (across several locations and countries). You will be expected to leverage existing software, processes and resources so synergy, efficiency and best-practice is shared within Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Ireland, but also to share with your peers in the planning team across CPN Europe.

The successful establishment of this role, and the processes and relationships you create, will provide the basis for IBP (Integrated Business Planning) to be rolled out under the CAN global blueprint.

The key measures of success (KPIs) that you will track, analyse and be accountable for in this role:

  2. Business Operations and Supply Chain (BOSC) cost to serve

  3. Inventory management

Principal Accountabilities

40% Lead a team of supply schedulers (materials and production) in Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Ireland – coach and support them on their performance and development goals, review their KPIs

15% Manage the local teams to create monthly / weekly / daily production plan (potentially with new tools and methodologies) aligned with stakeholders from MRP (Materials Resource Planning) run

15% Translate mid-long term forecast (6-12 months) into supply plan, and monitor actuals vs plan: ensure necessary production capacity, finished goods stock, raw materials and packaging availability for your region, and align through Planning Lead to balance supply across all regions in CPN Europe

15% Manage inventory (raw materials and finished goods) in line with business targets using ABCD / XYZ analysis

10% Develop, champion and embed the S&OP and ultimately IBP processes in co-operation with other key stakeholders (Technical & Marketing, Finance, Commercial, Demand Planning, Operations, Sourcing)

5% Any other duties as assigned


  • Position is office based – occasional requirement to go into production / warehouse areas (need PPE)

  • Some travel (within Europe) will be required (c. 25%)

  • Full-time position – as our plants run 24/7, you may be contacted during out of office hours, be on-call in weekends, or occasional early starts / late finishes may be required as necessary

  • Bachelor degree - as a minimum a good general standard of education; high standard of numeracy, literacy and verbal communication essential.

  • A master degree specifically in Supply Chain Management/Engineering is a plus

  • Previous Planning experience is essential, preferably in a manufacturing environment

  • 5-8 years team management experience (preferably including remote/distance management)

  • Proven experience in Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership

  • Good working knowledge of an S&OP / IBP process in a relevant environment

  • Good working knowledge of ERP system (preferably SAP)

  • Must be able clearly to demonstrate effective collaboration and relationship-building with key internal stakeholders

  • Fluent in English is essential and Dutch is preferred.

  • Must have a high drive and energy level, can-do attitude

  • Must be diligent, committed, and prepared to manage tasks through to completion.

  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written), need to communicate with people on different levels in the organization

  • Ownership: must have strong sense of accountability for own actions, able to withstand challenge and scrutiny from peers and superiors.

  • Able to maintain and promote a strong professional image to internal and external stakeholders alike.

  • Must have well developed skills in planning (demand planning, supply planning or production planning)

  • Ability to demonstrate change management and process improvement delivery
