PIT Operator is a vital role in the daily operations of our facility. There are a variety of roles and responsibilities within this title. The types of roles available are handling all aspects of meat processing, operate a pallet jack, retrieve meat for various lines, get supplies and supply tank to multiple machines, all while making safety the number one priority.
While performing the duties of PIT Operator, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces; moving mechanical parts; fast paced warm/cool environment. Positions require standing the entire shift and the use of PPE is required in all areas of the facility.
Perform repetitive tasks. Examples include:
Ensuring food safety and quality
Operate pallet jack and perform basic PM’s on jack
Must be able to obtain a PIT license or currently have a PIT license.
Will be required to set up, tear down, and operate all equipment in department.
Must be willing to work scheduled department hours and weekends and/or overtime as required.
Has demonstrated professional working relationships, and has the ability to interact effectively with production management, Quality Assurance and USDA.
Preference given to those that have demonstrated the ability to perform the tasks of this job.
Must have good safety and attendance records.
Basic math skills (addition/subtraction) preferred
Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
Must be 18 years or older
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Previous production experience
Previous Cargill experience
Work history in the past 12 months
Good English communication skills (reading, written and oral) required. Bilingual preferred.
