Position Purpose & Summary

The Associate Credit Analyst will coordinate all A/R and credit related activities for the assigned protein businesses. The Analyst will work closely with the business and Sr Credit Analyst to continue to build a best in class credit function. Primary accountabilities include review, oversight and partnering with the Sr Analyst on order/hold release functions; helping to develop effective collections techniques; review and approval of credit underwriting files. Additionally, the analyst will have oversight of the A/R and will work with the OTSC Analyst to ensure collection metrics are met.

Principal Accountabilities

40% Analytical A/R Management

  • Identify payment concerns or slowing, and successfully resolve the concern via root cause analysis and working with customer and commercial team

  • Analyze A/R trends for the portfolio and ensure working capital metrics are met

  • Lead the work to maintain and improve SOP’s for effective collections strategies

35% Portfolio Management and Risk Mitigation

  • Facilitate discussion and provide guidance to the Sr Analyst for credit granting and establishing limits on external customers

  • Approve limits on accounts where there is limited financial information and there is a need to make business decision in evaluating risk / reward for the customer

  • Provide oversight of approved credit limits and ensure compliance to the credit policy

  • Build and sustain relationships with business leadership, commercial teams, and customers

  • Assist in the completion of Cargill Financial Risk Committee credit assessments

10% Order/Release Resolution

  • Work with OTSC Sr Analyst and business to resolve any customer order hold concerns

  • Lead the work to maintain and improve SOP’s for effective order hold/release process

10% Customer Setup

  • Facilitate new customer setup requests between commercial and master data teams

5% EDI Resolution

  • Work with the business, IT and customers to resolve EDI transmission failures

Relocation will not be provided for this position.

Required Qualifications

  • High School or GED equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years in commercial credit and collections

  • Minimum of 2 months of experience in accounts receivable application.

  • Minimum travel (up to 10% of the time)

  • Minimum of 2 months of experience in Microsoft Suite Office Suite (Outlook, Excel...)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent degree

  • Experience in Syspro

  • Experience in JD Edwards Financial System, AS400 based systems, and SAP.
