Position Purpose & Summary
Responsibility to cover the Black Sea coaster market and support the Amsterdam team in the Continent. The role will have strong entrepreneurial skills and a keen desire to expand Cargill’s footprint focusing on internal and external customers. The position will explore new business opportunities whilst also keeping existing customers satisfied. The individual is able to think on their feet and take independent decisions. The role includes chartering coasters for inhouse coasters and will have strong focus on building a TC fleet and building a 3rd party customer base in the Black Sea. The position will take a leading role in a project to ensure a safe and competitive fleet for our inhouse customers in the Black Sea. The role requires a high level of analytical skills as well as communication skills and teamwork in order to service internal customers and deal with external customers/brokers/suppliers.
Timely execute the coaster freight book in the spot market. Develop short term and long term gameplans to maximize value. Always adhering to the Guiding Principles and the Cargill vessel vetting policy.
Contribute to the development of a regional S&D.
Ensure continuous learning and self-development particularly in the areas of freight market economics, risk management and technical/legal aspects of shipping by actively working on and execution development plans.
30% Business development
Play a leading role in building a safe and sustainable TC fleet to serve inhouse and 3rd party coasters in the Black Sea.
By building the fleet, optimize Cargill earnings as well as ensuring access to a safe an sustainable fleet.
Actively pursue financial structures to maximize value.
Build strong relationships with internal product lines to provide them with value added market insights and nearby positioning advice based on overall game plan, quoting their demand, providing daily freight grids, creating freight opportunities for them, managing their short as well as long term coasters freight position.
Maintain and develop good external customer and supplier relationships in order to build the Cargill coaster volume.
10% PnL / Admin
Ensure accurate and timely admin and PnL processes. Actively improve or develop processes if needed.
Build/maintain relationships with internal stakeholders including admin/ops accounting
Education, Experience, Skills
University degree is a plus but not essential. Further education in business or shipping is an advantage
2 years’ experience in a shipping environment
Proven strong Analytical skills
Good communication skills
Technical skills (lay time calcs, Chinsay, Vetting, CES credit checks),
Able to value differences in charter party terms correctly
Able to develop a working relationship with people of different ages, cultures and backgrounds
Fluent in English, able to Speak in Russian and familiarity with other language of the region.
