This full time position is located at Guntersville, Alabama. Relocation assistance is not provided.

This is an entry level trainee Maintenance Crafts person position. Employees in this position are expected to complete a training program and successful candidates will move into the Maintenance “B” level position.

The purpose of this position is to maintain optimum functionality and reliability for all plant equipment. Maintenance Crafts person “C” is responsible for maintenance and reliability in the most efficient and workman like manner. Performs jobs such as: Inspections, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and repairs.Interacts on a regular basis with management, peer maintenance and facility personnel along with contractors/vendors.

Principal Accountabilities:

70% Working outside to fulfill maintenance needs.

25% Working inside repair shop or process areas to meet maintenance needs.

5% Working SAP for time confirmation and work flow.

  • At least 3 years of experience in production related work

  • Knowledge of fasteners.

  • Must be willing and able to acquire knowledge and skills of ‘B’ level Craftsperson through successful completion of on-the-job training, computer-based learning and training classes. Timeline to be determined by supervisor.

  • Must have adequate transportation.

  • Must be willing and able to work 8 hours shifts including nights, overtime, weekends, holidays, and additional hours beyond regularly scheduled shift to cover vacancies, complete work jobs in progress and attend training.

  • Must be willing and able to be on call.

  • Must be able to travel.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces

  • Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold.

  • Ability to work in elevated areas.

  • Must have the demonstrated mechanical aptitude to work from all types of blueprints, maintenance manuals, and drawings and the mathematical knowledge required for such work.

  • Must be able to interpret equipment conditions using color scales on NDT instruments.

  • Basic computer skills including enter and retrieve data and learn computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and Maintenance software such as SAP.

  • Must be able to operate machinery.

  • Must be able to operate heavy equipment.

  • Maintenance experience using precision instrumentation including: torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, laser alignment tools, sheave alignment tools, etc.

  • Experience in cutting, welding, and metal fabrication.

  • Prior predictive and preventative maintenance experience.

  • Experience in data entry and use of CMMS programs.

  • Must have the demonstrated mechanical aptitude to the basic use of and measuring of instruments/precision tools (including Non Destructive Testing (NDT) equipment), fasteners, piping/fittings & valves, cutting and welding, packing/sealing/gasket products, air/steam traps, rotating shaft components, filtering media and rigging.


  • Able to perform maintenance trades including welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing, maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic.

  • Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)

  • Forklift certified.

  • Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance including: vibration detection or analysis, infrared imaging, oil analysis, cause failure analysis and documentation.
