Position Purpose & Summary :

This BDM is the key responsible person for new business development matters related to CIS strategic growth market category of specialty Chemcials. Builds market position by locating, developing and meeting growth goals. This BDM will hold Account Management and Project Management (Lead) responsibilities including sales, marketing and technical support. This position establishes contact and construct relationship with key stakeholders inside the customers and CIS business management team. Key responsible to translate market and customers opportunities into solutions creating a distinctive value for customers and Cargill. The intent is to create demand for Cargill solutions, aligned with the Global & Local Category Strategy.

Principal Accountabilities :

BDM is accountable for the following role in the assigned focus category:

  • Translate market and customer needs into solution opportunities towards creating a distinctive value for customers and CIS.

  • Develope customer intimacy by working together with Global and Regional Commercial Managers, R&D, Marketing, Operations and the Category Leaders to execute and deliver CIS growth targets.

  • Increase Cargill presence and share at current and new customers determining the suitable value proposition, resolving internal priorities to deliver CIS portfolio of solutions.

  • Build a deep understanding of competition in the selected category(ies).

  • Lead CIS product´s qualification at prospect customers translating the opportunities into regular sales - commercial. Provide Sales Volume forecasting and planning for the Europe region, constructing the image of CIS as a solution provider, towards becoming the partner of choice together with the customer set

  • Participate in the global category team meetings and guarantee the deployment of the global strategic planning in the region, creating a “one company” Go-To-Market effort and view

  • Be the channel to promote transference and to Implement the CIS portfolio of products and solutions in the region. Keep the continuous feed-back providing inputs for optimizing products and the use of the most cost effective feedstock (suitable) based on regional capabilities and needs


Required Qualifications :

  • Degree in Chemistry or Engineering, or Business economics with strongly developed commercial skills or, with strong affinity for technical applications or with background in industry business.

  • 10 years experience in combined Commerical, Technical, Marketing and Management experience.

  • 5 years experience in the similar Industry

  • Ability to build long-lasting business-to-business relationships within organizations (both internally and externally).

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate value propositions with multiples functions, resulting in increased value to the stakeholders in new technology/market space.

  • Customer Focused with high level of urgency and proven ability to successfully resolve conflicts, service and performance issues.

  • Demonstrated collaboration, communication and leadership skills.

  • Customer champion – voice of the “market”.

  • Strong negotiation skills and resilient in a strong competitive environment

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Masters of Science or Marketing field

  • Experience and knowledge in technical and commercial aspects of Specialty Chemicals

  • Familiar with Cargill Marketing Accademy model and tools or similar

  • Team worker

  • 10 years – Commercial experience in Chemical, Oleochemical or related industry experience

  • Familiar with veg based commodities and merchandizing dynamics.

  • Familiar with Plastics or Thermosets additives industry
