Position Purpose

The responsibilities of this position is to ensure the efficiency in Export-Import of Agri commodities from all the major & minor seaports and across the world. This role requires the individual to lead and coordinate Export- Import Documentation(Container & Bulk ) Shipping Lines, Customs & Other Govt bodies,operations processes, FoodSafety standard,Customer service and quality management, Personnel development, and operations efficiency to the highest possible standard and meets the company's expectations. The ability to identify, develop, coach and train local talents for future leadership positions is required.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Become an integral part of the management team of CBS India, and lead the drive to enhance our Export & Import execution, bring efficiency in supply chain

  2. Develop, lead and administer an effective and proactive environment, health and safety and loss control program

  3. Working with the respective business function leads, develop a human resource strategy that will identify overall team strength and weaknesses and incorporate talent development processes and performance management processes to assist in building a high performance team.

  4. Identify and train appropriate technical training needs for employees in EXIM Documentation, Cost Management, EHS, customer focus, SOPs and food safety.

  5. Lead and implement effective inventory management program to minimize shrink, damages, prevent unplanned condition problems.

  6. Leverage and share best practices within the geography and across the region.

  7. Full understanding of LC & CAD flow of business ,

  8. For handling agro business have full understanding of GAFTA ,FOSFA terms specially FM clauses,Peanlties clause against Extension of shipment period.

  9. Full understanding of different kind of LOI for handling bulk shipment.

  10. Coordinate with port authorities, Customs, Shipping Lines and manage vessel discharge and containerized cargo exports operations in line with its SOPs.

Other Requirements

Enviornment

  • This position has to deal with various Cargill offices, third party customers/suppliers.

  • This position will need to lead a multi-cultural team within a geography where there are many bureaucratic, regulatory and legal challenges to operate within an environment that has a relatively low EHS and Food Safety awareness and standards, and ethical standards. Many of which will have to be challenged and changed as we grow and normalize our operations. Security issues and associated risks are challenges that need to be addressed in an uneven playing field. Competitors usually operate under a lower standard (including business ethics) to minimize costs and maximize profits

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 yrs of college degree in any field (preferably Biz management,Export/Import Documentation & foreign Trade)

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

  • Computer proficiencysply. Analytical tools (excel etc.)

  • Minimum 5 yrs of exp in export/import of agri commodities.

  • Willing to travel

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Flexiblity to adapt to changing conditions in the business.

  • Have ability to work with the team

  • Effective decision making and problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of import and export regulations in India (other countries is an added advantage).

  • Knowledge regarding vessel handling and discharge operations along with containerized cargo shipments

  • Knowledge in grains and other Agri commodities handling/conditions

  • Knowledge in cost and warehouse managementExperienced in managing contractors and huge workforce would be an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of UCPDC/LCs/GAFTA/FOSFA/RSA/INCOTERMS etc…
