Process Improvement Engineer (m/f)
The Process Improvement Engineer is responsible for the improvement of productivity and efficiency of existing and new processes.
In this role you are dedicated to change and innovation and will be leading productivity. You will liaise with internal experts and will be the key contact for determined projects on site. You support the organization in building capabilities and skills in Lean Six Sigma. The scope of work is not restricted to improvement projects in the manufacturing domain but can also extend to Finance, HR, business processes or other functions on site.
Furthermore, the Process Improvement Engineer will be expected to contribute to quality and safety improvements in our facility.
40% Process Optimization, performance improvement, production excellence
Drives process improvement (CI)
Uses Lean Six Sigma tools and stays up to date regarding this methodology
Actively participates into the KPI reporting and KPI performance analysis as well as financial performance improvement and its execution
Develops strong business understanding to ultimately identify technology gaps and process improvement opportunities. Addresses business needs by accurately identifying/capturing customer and client requirements
Facilitates the implementation, monitoring of auditing control mechanisms, to track performance and provide actionable solutions that contributes to efficiency
Supports leadership team in deploying best practices to mitigate risks
30% Support projects
Defines technical project objectives
Develop various options to achieve project objectives, incl. budget and benefits for each option
Prepares the plan for how the project is executed, monitored and controlled based on knowledge of build project management practices, strategies and procedures
Works with and manages engineering firms across engineering disciplines
Commissioning and start-up support to operations
20% Support daily operation
Supports with root cause analysis
Analyze data and use statistical tools for trouble shooting
10% Process & Food/Feed Safety
Includes safety aspects into process improvement solution
Champions and reinforces Cargill’s behavioral based safety process and zero fatalities throughout every phase of projects
Proposes and/or deploys appropriate technology solution considering overall safety standards, process safety, environmental constraints
Identifies potential safety risks and liability implications involved in specific areas of engineering application and/or leads process safety risk assessments as well as ensures all process safety events are properlyinvestigated/documented/reported
University degree in Engineering (Biochemistry, Chemical, Process, Agricultural, Food Science, or Mechanical)
Job experience: Minimum 3 years industrial processing experience
Knowledge of lean six sigma and statistical tools (like minitab)
Motivation and ability to execute projects/tasks in a timely manner, Strong prioritization and time management skills
Self-starter; highly motivated and able to work independently
Teamwork; ability to work in a multi-cultural and cross-functional team
Fast learning and self-development: curiosity to learn
Able to proactively identify and resolve problems
Strong data analysis capabilities including continuous improvement experience or certifications
Computer savvy, Knowledge of basic software programs
Fluent in German and English
